Read what parents are saying about Fulshear High SchoolHonestly the school isn’t that bad all around. But I personally think this school is terrible. The people only wanna be cool, and coming from another school I didn’t feel welcomed. Don’t transfer here
Posted by a student on 10/26/2023We're new to the district. We were worried about the change for my daughter. It was helpful to know there's so many more new students due to the new communities. The staff pleased us so much! With all they have to handle with so many new changes all at once with more than one new community blew us away. From front office, the officers, the counselors, and the reports back my daughter reported back about her teachers (and the students she described as very pleasant from all backgrounds) has my heart in a very great place. My daughter love how they teach, the counselors consistent communication and so many more things she loved more than the school she just left. I know nothing is perfect! Nor will I ever expect it to be, but I can say this school has greatly exceeded my expectations. We come from a very strong district CFISD that she excelled in. So it means the world to see how happy, but yet challenged she feels. Wishing everyone a grand year!

Posted by a parent on 5/7/2023I have found my experience as a parent that for the most part the administration is pretty transparent, minus one incident. The school/district never sent a notice regarding a student make threats to specific kids, they quietly moved the student out of the school and into another school in the district since the student has a parent that works in district. I do find it alarming that they pick and choose what they want to let the community, parents/guardians know. I did speak with a specific administrator regarding the issue several times and unfortunately they were unable to release any information to anyone because they are not the "big boss" so their hands were tied.I also know that there have been several incidents of fighting in the bathrooms, as well as kids bringing vapes, and knives to school and nothing has been done to stop it.I will say this though, my student has an IEP in place and I have found that teachers and administrators are extremely helpful in staying contact with me regarding my child's plan and what can be done to help them stay on track and be successful.
Posted by a parent on 2/24/2023Overall this school is decent. I find that many of the students that attend aren’t friendly, but you can still find people that make your highschool experience great. The rallies are not the best, I believe they will become better over the years, but that’s really up to the students. They definitely need a bigger area to hold the rallies though. I’m going to into my senior year and I’m truly excited to graduate and leave my Highschool days behind me. You don’t have worry about bullying if you just mind your own business and you don’t let people think they do or say whatever they want to you. Some of the teachers are really trying to educate the students here while others will just give you a passing grade. In order to get the teachers that will teach you most and be in a environment where all the kids aren’t fooling around I definitely recommend taking AP classes which I have done throughout my 4 years of going to the this school. It’s a great place to find likeminded individuals that want to educate themselves and are not just trying to take the easy route in life. Cafeteria food is nothing special but they do have some decent options at the lunch line you just have to know which one to pick. School spirt definitely needs more participation amongst the students (buying school spirit should be easier).School Dances are pretty decent as well. Fights are not common but will happen once and awhile due to the kids that like to fool around and do dumb stuff. Just stay away from people you don’t wanna surround yourself around. All electives are good just make sure it’s something that you think you will be truly be interested in so you don’t just brush off the class it’s really disrespectful to the teacher. At least try to put in some effort into the class and not just put your head down the whole period and expect your teacher to pass you. If you are really interested in the class and feel like you could get more from the class by playing fun little mini games or learning the material in a different way talk to your teacher. In conclusion, just mind your own business to avoid bullying, take ap classes to get the best possible teachers, participate in school spirit, and try to be as respect as possible to everyone even the people that you think don’t deserve it. Make sure to study for SAT’s and AP test for college. Some dual credit classes are harder than AP classes. Also note that your grades don’t make you just do your best. H.S. only comes once so do everything

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLamar CISD needs to consider finding a more qualified person to lead this school. Mrs. Cunningham is not suited for the role. It says something about leadership when staff is quitting in October. It says something about leadership when the principal elects to spread the students in that class to the remaining second grade team instead of choosing to bring in a long-term sub or onboard a qualified 2nd grade teacher. That was a choice she made. We are only a third of the way through the school year. Parents are not happy! This decision puts stress on the remaining 2nd grade team while simultaneously lessening the attention that each student can be given because the number of students in the classroom has increased. Choose your neighborhood wisely if you're considering moving to Fulshear. Other things to consider: 1. The PTO does a great job with activities and being supportive. 2. Some of the staff members speak to parents as if we are beneath them. Their attitudes are awful and it's not nice.3. Rumor has it that the principal plays favorites with her staff. Where there's smoke, there's fire.If mortgage rates weren't so high, our family would be moving back to Katy ISD. Unfortunately, we are locked in for now.Parent Review5mo ago - Fred And Patti Shafer Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePoor management and inept teachers. This school goes to great lengths to seem open and inclusive where in fact the reality is quite the opposite. Teachers are perpetually fumbling with the curriculum. Teachers cannot control classrooms because they don’t know how to relate to students. It’s a cookie cutter environment with no creativity whatsoever. We are disappointed on so many levels. The Shafers are great people but the school is atrocious in its efficiency. Teachers complain at everything and they aren’t able to be flexible or have the expertise to operate in a diverse environment. Worse school climate I’ve witnessed.Parent Review1y ago - James E Randolph Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHave 2 kids going to this elementary school and we love it. The teachers and administration make great efforts to engage positively with all children. There are many good teachers and also a GT program for students who are especially motivated and exceptional. We love this school and teachers and think its a very good school. I can imagine in this day and age, the staff has to tread a very fine line given how much pressure they get from variety of angles (parents, senior admin, politics etc) but over all they do an exceptional job. Many teachers and staff reside in the neighborhood and take interest in making sure students have an all around positive experience.Parent Review1y ago - Campbell Elementary School
