Read what parents are saying about Heritage Elementary SchoolLack of communication is a serious problem so far. My daughter has also been hit at recess(three times in the head with a toy). I never hear back in regards to needing info about ANYTHING. This has been by far the worst experience. My daughter no longer feels safe at school and requested to wear something to cover her head. She is 5! This is completely unacceptable! Her first school experience and she is traumatized. Parents please talk to your children about keeping their hands and toys to themselves. Bullying in kindergarten is ridiculous and that starts at home! My child was also lost. Waited to pick her up at the bottom of the school she’s a “walker” and when I didn’t see her it was “oh we thought she wasn’t here today” um what?! And there was no urgency to locate her either! Somehow she got mixed into the bus riders line. This school so far has failed my expectations as a parent and has failed my child. I urge any parent with questions and/or concerns to attend the school board meeting. Something has to change. I was sent to a construction site to enroll her, multiple times, when there was no school to even go into. That should have been the first red flag. I was told they were having teacher meeting night at the school, it was not at the school it was a zoom. I was told I’d receive a copy of the zoom, I never received it. Let down after let down. And now the final straw, my daughter being physically assaulted at school by another student! I reached out about the incident and haven’t heard back yet.
Posted by a parent on 10/26/2021The worst school I have ever had to put my children in. It is repulsive.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a title one school, this campus takes many strides to provide tutors and one-on-one help for those who need it, a high quality team for their special education and life students, and lots of creative clubs and after school opportunities for kids to participate in. They are a leader in me school where kids are learning to make responsible choices, their fine arts music and theater programs allow lots of opportunities for students to participate in live programs learning during their classes as well as after school opportunities. The staff has worked hard the past few years to bring scores and ratings up and is now a B grade school. I love the evening events as well, from music and theater programs to science nights, reading night, fun family movie nights and Holiday activities. Plus soon they will have a brand new building that is state of the art to move into.Other Review1y ago - Park Glen Elementary School

Parent Review2mo ago - Friendship Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnable or unwilling to accommodate children with disabilities. Refusal to follow 504 plans, argumentative teachers. Refuse to communicate. Withhold information and grades. Very poor performing and very low expectations of student body. High focus on limited English proficiency and dyslexia, while everything else is essentially ignored, glossed over. We were lied to for years about our child’s placement and told she didn’t qualify for an IEP, which was not only untrue, it was not legal. Principal is Teflon - refuses all accountability for theirs or others’ actions. Blames and finger-points to shift the focus of self. Our community deserves so much better. Our kids deserve so much better. It is shocking how long these behaviors have been allowed to continue, even when Dr. Westfall, HR, and legal counsel are aware.Parent Review1y ago - Basswood Elementary School
