Ed Willkie Middle School

With a new principal this year, we’ve seen major improvement with teacher communication and engagement. We love this school and the teachers!! Sports programs are great and the coaches are dedicated and truly love what they do.

I love this school for my kids. They have a newer Principal, Mr. Booker, who's been there for a few years and he's great. The staff really seem to care about their students, both general Ed and Special Ed. We've gotten so much help from these educators and I'm extremely happy that we were re-zoned to this school, after my son's 6th grade year at another local middle school. Anytime I have a question or concern, I'm able to contact staff without feeling weird or awkward, which really helps. The counselors are great, too. Overall, I genuinely appreciate everyone at this school.

This has to be the worst school in America don't get me started first of all the Teachers are mean and you there advantage to bully the students and if the students talk back they fail them 2nd of all the Teachers feel like they don't care about the job and are overly sensitive 3rd the students bully other students the teachers don't do nothing but then talk about non bullying 4rd the teachers give out hard test and you do test every day and they barely teach it to you aka math I think this is a bad school and should shut down how cringe it is

Terrible, worst school I have ever been too, if you send your kid here you probably don't even care about them.

I am NOT impressed with this school at all. The teachers seem overwhelmed and confused. The communication is terrible unless they are passing something down from the district. With one of the teachers, we are lucky if she shows up to work! Oftentimes she takes off without any communication to her students or parents and the students show up to her class with no sub and no work to do. That is unacceptable!! The online platform is not user-friendly. There is no structure or consistency in the way they present work to the students so it makes it difficult for them to navigate. Some teachers are nice, but they seem to have too much on their plates with no effective leadership to rely upon. At this school, your child is just a number. The front office is clueless regarding everything I call about. If you want your child to succeed you will have to commit several hours per week staying on top of the teachers and administration. Everyone seems to be doing their own thing like this is a university! Middle students still require structure, consistency, and motivation. This school lacks in all of those areas. I will be looking at other options for next year.
