Read what parents are saying about Boerne - Samuel V Champion High SchoolBoth my kids went through the Boerne ISD school system. Cibilo Creek elementary was the only school we all liked. Many of the teachers and staff have left because they could not stand it anymore from middle schools to Champion. We have watched over the years as populations increase, quality decrease. They cannot handle nor were ready for the rapid changes and growth. They put up a good front but behind the scenes its a failing system. Now that my kids are in college, we lookback and are so grateful we were there somwhat early before the rapid decline. I dont know how anyone gets to school/work on timewhile kids suffer for it. I feel for all whom go attend now. Good luck!!

Posted by a community member on 9/12/2022Competitive environment, and excellent AP/honors options. By and large excellent faculty. I appreciate that this school has been a launching pad toward an elite higher Ed institution for my kids. That said, results are slipping even with bonds passing and plenty of resources, and it is a failure of leadership that this is so. Perhaps it is because of a school board preoccupied with maintaining its quaint, small town values, manifesting in puritanical dress codes and anti-science. Or perhaps the board is just overmatched by the area’s rapid growth. Either way, the results are slipping, and not just at Champion.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBased on some of these reviews it seems to me there are a few parents who don't quite know how the chain of command works within an organization. I'm thinking they are having "issues with teachers" and taking it to the administration rather than working with the teacher to make the necessary corrections. So when the prinicpal doesn't tell them what they want to hear they come on here and post a bad review. There are certainly times when dealing with the administration is necessary, but only as a last resort. I have had no problems with Curington what-so-ever. Fantastic school, fantastic teachers, fantastic counselor, and yes a fantastic NEW adminstration (not that I ever had any issues with the previous principal). It is a tremendous learning environment with top notch parent involvement. As for test scores, Curington at one point had the ONLY ESL program in the district. It's been proven year in year out by the administration that when those in the ESL program who struggle with the standardized tests have their scores extrapolated out, Curington actually has the highest elementary school scores in the district...yes, higher than Cibolo.Parent Review11y ago - Fabra Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has been going to the Fabra since kindergarten and we cannot be happier at Fabra. All teachers are very attentive and whenever I go to school, everybody like students, teachers and staff, seems really happy there. My son loves going to school and that means a lot to us.Parent Review1y ago - Kendall Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child attended Cibolo Creek all the way through elementary school. We could not have asked for a better experience. Awesome teachers each year, involved administration, excellent resources and long-term friendships for my son. Excellent on all categories.Parent Review5y ago - Herff Elementary School
