8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a concerned parent, I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience with Becker Elementary. It is with great regret that I write this review, as I had high hopes for this school. However, due to the poor administrators, I strongly urge parents to consider other educational options for their children. From the moment my child enrolled at Becker Elementary, it became evident that the administrators lacked the necessary skills and dedication to create a positive learning environment. One of the most glaring issues was their lack of communication. Important updates, school events, and academic progress were rarely communicated effectively to parents. As a result, I often felt out of the loop and unable to actively participate in my child's education.Another major concern was the administrators' inability to address and resolve disciplinary issues effectively. Instances of bullying and misconduct were swept under the rug, with little to no consequences for the perpetrators. It is deeply distressing to see the school neglect its duty to provide a safe and nurturing environment for students.Furthermore, the administrators demonstrated a lack of professionalism and leadership. They were unresponsive to parents' concerns and appeared disinterested in actively engaging with students and their families. It seemed as though their primary focus was on bureaucratic tasks rather than fostering a thriving educational community. The inadequate resources and facilities at Becker Elementary were also a cause for concern. Outdated textbooks, limited extracurricular activities, and an overall lack of investment in modern educational tools made it evident that the administrators were not prioritizing the students' educational needs. In light of these issues, I strongly recommend that parents seek alternatives to Becker Elementary. There are numerous other schools in the area that are better equipped to provide a quality education, with administrators who are genuinely invested in their students' success. It is essential to choose a school that prioritizes effective communication, student discipline, and a nurturing learning environment.Parent Review9mo ago - Blackshear Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child began at Mathews during the pandemic. The staff, teachers and administration have dealt with the challenges of this period with aplomb, grit, organization and warmth. I am in awe of them. I am so grateful to Principal Martino-Brewster for her calm, positivity and wisdom. My child has had a loving and trusting relationship with their specials teachers as well as their primary teachers. Like so many schools in the USA, Mathews struggles to equitably serve its disadvantaged students. Mathews parents generally have a long way to go in becoming anti-racist, anti-classist parents and teaching their children to be anti-racist and anti-classist. On the whole, however, I am proud of this school community and feel lucky that my family can be a part of this environment.Other Review2y ago - Sanchez Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school doesn't help the kids that need xtra help. Instead of helping my kid with her Reading they just let her fail. She received nothing but 3 and 4's all year long except Reading. They helped the Spanish speaking students, but not mine... they informed me all late in the year that my kid will be held back. I kept asking if there was any help at school? and they would say no. At the end of the year they inform me that they needed my permission to have her pulled out of the classroom to get her the help she needed, really with less than 6wks. ? and they still didn't really offer me to sign anything? ?... The bilingual program they offered just confused my kid and I my friends kid to this day... Her new teacher at her present has told me BY LAW with her low scores in Reading she should've got help not not retained another full year !! Especially since they knew about her low scores early in the year.. she feels my kid was cheated and I totally agree... She should've got her some help....Parent Review4y ago - Zavala Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHeadwaters School has been a nightmare for my children and family. This is not a 'Montessori' school. It is a self-described 'experiment' that has failed. Do not let your children be lab rats. I do not want to see this happen to any other family. Stay away.Parent Review1y ago - Cathedral School Of St Mary
