Read what parents are saying about Cookeville High SchoolCookeville is a fantastic school. They offer so many options that my child would not have access to at another school. As a freshman taking Honors courses, as well as an AP course, and receiving afterschool assistance to get caught up in the math - I could not be more proud to have a Cavalier student!! My only negative (4.9 STAR) review is due to the fact that there isn't a safe place for the teens to go to after school. There seems to be no rules/regulation/supervision in the LEAPS program which is very disheartning to the point that I would not allow my teen to be there, and I have chosen to giveup my lunch break for an early pickup once school is out. This is unacceptable that my child does not feel safe in that environment.
Posted by a parent on 11/14/2022My son is a senior this year and has been at CHS all 4 years. I can say that we’ve personally never had any problems with students or teachers here. The coach and his team he plays on are his extended family. Anytime I’ve had questions about anything there everyone has been friendly and helpful. Next year my other son will start attending CHS and I’m thankful he will also get to be there. I’d give them a 9/10
Posted by a parent on 10/1/2020CHS is a great place to go to school at and offers a wide variety of classes for everyone. Most of the students there are respectful and helpful. Many of the advanced classes like honors,AP,and IB are taught by very good teachers and through there help My son has achieved all A's. He never completely dreads a day of school and really appreciates all the people at CHS
Posted by a parent on 12/13/2013Simply an outstanding school with excellent faculty and outstanding facilities. Certainly the best high school in the area, one of the best in the state. Its size is large enough so everyone can find their niche, but the faculty and administration still care about the individual.
Posted by a parent on 8/3/2011All the kids in my neighborhood love their high school. I've found the students at CHS to be very courteous and very well prepared for college. There's a ton of school spirit at CHS. The teachers are wonderful, and the administration is very caring. My teenager absolutely loves going to school!

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had 5 children go through Capshaw! It is a wonderful school that is dedicated to teach the students what needs to be taught. My older children breezed through middle and high school because I do believe of their foundation at Capshaw. My youngest is now in 3rd grade and it saddens me to know that we will only have another year after this year at this great school.Parent Review5y ago - Jere Whitson Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have no knowledge how regular classes are conducted but the special needs classes are exceptional in this school. The teachers are caring and try their best to give these children everything they need.My son is Autistic and went there from 4th to 8th grade and excelled tremendously. His speech got so much better he can express himself and his feelings now.He also is very good in math loved the sport program's and the extra activities that were available in that school like swimming and visits to a horse stable that were qualified to work with special needs children. The children also give you valuable information what is available in the community for special needs children if you ask them.My experience with this school was the best. Also a personal thanks to Ms.Walker and Ms.Best who made our experience with this school so exceptional.Parent Review9y ago - Algood Elementary School
