Read what parents are saying about Montessori KinderMy husband and I wanted a place where our girls could grow academically / intellectually but also as human beings with all their strengths and flaws. We enrolled one daughter at first and watched - in a very short period of time - her flourish, begin to label her emotions, respond to positive encouragement... so now both of our girls are there and we couldn’t be happier with the positive outcomes we see every day. To say this school has changed our life would be accurate. Highly recommend!
Posted by a parent on 10/26/2018There have been are so many wonderful experiences growing out of our relationship with this school. To briefly name just a few of the changes I've noticed in our daughter: She has improved very noticeably in terms of her basic academic skills; she understands how to research subjects on her own (as a 1st grader!); she now accepts a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment as a matter of course; she understand social processes much better and how to peacefully resolve conflicts. It is easy to see how all this is so positively affecting her character. Frankly, none of this would have been even remotely possible in the public school system. For all these reasons, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to have her attend Montessori Kinder.
Posted by a parent on 2/12/2015I could not possibly being to express the difference this school has made in the lives of our entire family. Our daughter is not only excelling academically but she is developing character, responsibility and social awareness. She is allowed to learn and develop at her own pace, while at the same time developing the skills of a disciplined and curious student. I love the multi-cultural environment of the school. In a day she is surrounded by children of many different cultures and comes home excited at the new words she has learned from her bi-lingual classmates. The school day is set up with a flow that is conducive to learning. The children go through cycles of focused work paired with time for more expressive tasks. They also have daily tasks such as taking out the trash, sweeping the floor, etc. that help foster a sense of independence and responsibility for their environment. I have noticed how much more willing our daughter is to do chores at home - without having been asked! They have plenty of outdoor time as well in order to get fresh air and physical activity. All around, a most wonderful school. Highly recommended!
Posted by a parent on 2/11/2015Montessori Kinder allows my child to progress at his own pace and not be held back or left behind by his peers. My son is in Kindergarten, but doing first grade level math and language. In a mainstream school, he'd be held back because the rest of the class wasn't on his level. He has the freedom to chose which work he'd like to do first and where he wants to do it. I am extremely satisfied with his teachers (guides, really) and their fostering of his love of learning and self determination. I only wish MK went to 12th grade instead of just 5th grade.
Posted by a parent on 2/11/2015All three of my children attended Montessori Kinder! My husband and I were so excited to be a part of a school community that not only teaches children academics, but also encourages personal care and responsibility at a very young age. It's amazing to see what children can do on their own when given the chance! We also loved the fact that the kids are exposed to the study of cultures and languages from all around the world, not just here at home. The teachers and staff and respectful and encouraging......it's a wonderful experience all around!

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school isn’t for everyone. I would recommend a shadow day of your students grade before making a decision. Some are better than others. Unfortunately my daughters class behavior is not what it should be. She was in public school in the northeast and her classes were always way more well behaved than here. There’s also a lot of drama amongst the girls and many are snarky and just plain mean.Parent Review2y ago - Bowman Hills School
