Read what parents are saying about James R. D. Oldham SchoolI feel terrible that my child has to attend this school or give up taking a bus to go elsewhere
Posted by a parent on 11/2/2017The school moved over the last year and they have a great new facility with a great playground. Now that they are settled I am sure they will do even better!

Posted by a parent on 12/22/2012Oldham school is a wonderful little school, I like the low number of children (180) the staff know all the kids! My son was chanllenged but not pushed. The teacher and staff made great accomedations for our split home and information that was sent home. The principal was strong and did great things for our school but unfortunately is now moving on. This school has a great reading program and overall good education.
Posted by a parent on 8/6/2012I am disappointed in the level of understanding being afforded to my grandson who attends this school. Some of the discipline levied does not "fit the crime". I would think that educators possess enough training in psychology, etc. , that would enable them to handle children who are only 5 or 6 yrs old. I would like to see more effort on the part of the educator and less finger-pointing toward the child. Let's not forget who the adults are and that we as adults have more experience. Also, staff members should not leave inappropriate items out in plain sight of children who would be tempted to touch and then get in trouble for doing so. One more thing, I know that there must be "corners" in the school, wouldn't that be more appropriate than sending a child home for a "misdemenor"? Really inappropriate discipline on the part of that teacher.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePrimrose Hill School has a student body and community that could potentially foster a truly excellent education. The quality of the test schools when you look at this school by the numbers should mostly be attributed to the largely affluent demographic who can afford to supplement the sub-par education offered by this school. A lack of leadership, low teacher expectations and accountability, weak district oversight, and lack of consideration for the student as a whole child make this school a place we are very glad to leave. If you are considering buying in this school zone be prepared for an average education if your child is high performing, and to be constantly annoyed by the lack of professional clear communications from the school leadership. I give Primrose Hill school 2 stars instead of 1 only because of my positive experience with other families at this school and a couple of teachers/staff members.Parent Review4y ago - The Gordon School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our third year at The Gordon School and we could not be happier! We moved to Rhode Island from out of state during the pandemic, with a rising 3rd grader who we were worried about transitioning to a new school and a new preschooler, and feel so incredibly lucky to have found Gordon during a period of such intense transition for our family. Our sons immediately connected with their classmates and teachers, and we all felt so comfortable from day one. The sense of community and belonging here is so special, and the focus on social-emotional learning and diversity, equity and inclusion makes Gordon a truly welcoming environment. The teachers and administration are exceedingly committed to making learning fun and exciting and meeting the students where they are.Parent Review3mo ago - The Children's Workshop
