We love PCD for so many reasons: its sliding scale tuition, its small class size, its sports requirement & supportive teams, its progressive curriculum, its commitment to engaging families and ample opportunities for feedback and involvement. Just a great group of socioeconomically-diverse kids and committed faculty in a supportive, unpretentious atmosphere. Most importantly, our teen LOVES their school & classes, has made a wonderful group of friends and is learning so much about herself as a learner and a community member. PCD is a gem and a gift.

The community at PCD is fantastic! The teachers are superb and create challenging, engaging and supportive classrooms. The school works hard to help the students create a supportive community. Our child is the happiest they've ever been at school.

This is our son's 4th year at PCD. He started as a 6th grader and has recently moved into the high school. We love PCD and really appreciate the support they have given our son. The teachers are, on the whole, phenomenal and, whenever we have had minor concerns, they have been addressed swiftly. Middle school can be a tough experience at some institutions but, with the close attention of caring faculty and staff, our son was able to navigate all the challenges and to feel like he had real control over his environment. One of the most amazing things about PCD is their ability to work with, and include, kids with different learning needs and challenges. Our son is friends with kids with special needs as well as kids who are high achievers. Students at all learning levels work together almost seamlessly in the middle school. Somehow this works at PCD, and the kids intermingle without a second thought. At the high school level, some classes are targeted to advanced learners, but many classes still manage to serve a broad range of learning styles. We think this is one of the most amazing things about PCD - their ability to provide targeted help when necessary without segregating the students into learning cliques. The transition from being the "big kid" in middle school to "little kid" in high school was a challenge for our son. Faculty and staff have been very understanding about his needs, and we have nothing but praise for the way they have listened to him and helped him adjust. We look forward to the next 3.5 years at PCD.

This is my daughter's 4th year at PCD and we have been extremely happy with the school! The personal attention given to each student is really fantastic and the small class sizes really allow for the teachers to get to know each of them well. My daughter really feels engaged and invested with each of her classes and enjoys the academic challenge the school offers. The administration is very accessible and also really cares about each student and their health and happiness.

Although we are only approximately 2 months into the school year, our entire family is both impressed and happy with our experience! Our daughter is part of the re-launched fifth grade and we have never seen her so consistently happy to attend school each day. The small class size allows for focus upon each student's individual needs. They are encouraged to take risks and learn from moments where they do not have the right answers. At our daughter's previous school, they were not able to keep her challenged and engaged throughout the school day. She was simply bored and tired of the endless repetition. This is not the case at PCD. In just two short months we are already seeing academic growth accompanied by character development and sense of community. Best part being that she is motivated to go to school each day and desires to be on campus early to make the most of her day.Our interaction with the teachers and administration has been positive. We have confidence in their ability to effectively lead and develop the students for their future academic endeavors and become positive, thoughtful members of society. Throughout the admissions process, we were excited and had a gut feeling that the leadership/academic structure was well formed and an excellent fit for our daughter. We are delighted to report that this was a sincere display of the PCD spirit rather than smoke & mirrors.Private school of this caliber is certainly an investment - as parents, we were nervous going in about the value we would receive for tuition. Luckily, the immersive experience our daughter (and family) is receiving from the PCD community has erased those anxieties. We are looking forward to many years of academic success.
