Posted by a parent on 8/9/2017I have three children that have been going to this school for a few years now and I am currently trying to find them a better school to attend, NO ONE should bring their kids here they will not learn they will only get into fights and the staff at the Locke won't do anything about it.... My two sons were even threatened by the school officer and when I went to Locke to speak to the principal about the matter I wasnt even allowed to meet with her (Principal Carter) I spoke with the dean and was told they would "investigate" I have yet to hear anything back and it's been weeks my children are afraid to go to school and due to the neighborhood we live in we don't have any other option as of now it's either that or truancy
Posted by a parent on 11/11/2016Dr. Hite need to turn this school over to some other agency ( charter ) or close this school This school need parent involvement ( volunteer)I think that kids who are disruptive should be removed from the class room and if need be the school. Or turn the student/family over to DHS Locke can succeed but it's going to take a village There's more that I would like to say who's listening?

My daughter went from 15 months through PK. My son went from 2-years-old until present (he's 3-years-old currently). Both of my children were loved and looked after by their teachers - starting from Sister Laila and Sister Burtukhan in the toddler room - and through their preschool experience with Sister Mensura, Sister Jannah, Sister Fatimah and others. They learned so much and my daughter was beyond Kindergarten ready when she entered K last October. TIES TOTS is now a Keystone STARS 3 facility and are well are on their way to becoming a STARS 4. Sister Manal does an excellent job of leading TIES TOTS, securing resources for the school and providing professional development for the teachers. Unlike most preschools and daycares that have high turnover, that is not the case in general at TIES TOTS, so you can rest assured that the teachers your kids start off with at the beginning of the year will be with them for the duration of the year and beyond. Lastly, the diversity in this school is incredible - from the staff to the students. My children were blessed to have teachers with backgrounds from Morocco, Africa, China, Ukraine, as well as African American and white teachers. Their classmates also were just as diverse, with a handful of multiracial students. Thank you for all you do for our community and children, TIES TOTS!Parent Review3mo ago - St Ignatius Of Loyola

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has attended since pre k. I'm the beginning the school was organized and flourishing under sister Owen. Once she retired the school has gone down hill like a freight train. Tuition continues to increase by the year, infrastructure of the school has not been updated since the 90's, the area around the school is no longer kept up. The curriculum is not challenging. No science is being taught in the younger grades. An inadequate amount of homework is not given out. There is a new principle now. His approach is "urban education ". Which is race based. No opportunity for outreach.Parent Review1y ago
