Conemaugh Township is an incredible school district. There is no other school like it in there area, and there’s a reason houses are a hot commodity here. The teachers are hands on and involved with the students. They are even present at outside activities just to support the kids. The school is newly renovated and changing to meet the needs of students. We moved here from another district and feel right at home. The community is very accepting and makes you feel like you grew up here. The kids are also very kind and respectful. There are no labels on what kids can and can’t do here. This is the type of school where the quarterback is also involved in the musical. If you want your child to be the best they can be, send them to Conemaugh Township.

If you are looking for a school district that puts all of its focus on the students becoming athletes rather than getting good grades and being able to succeed outside of Davidsville, PA then this is the school for you.. And as far as "small town cliquey adults" I give it an A++.. It's a terrible school district and I cannot wait to relocate

I went to this school as did my stepbrothers. They played sports and I did not. Their grades were excellent, though in life, they were not so successful. Your success, you see, at CTAHS was measured on if you played sports and how well. I did poorly with my grades. i was told that I read "too much" by the teachers. I even failed History though I had 100% on every quiz, homework and exam. Grades were distributed based upon popularity and popularity was based on sports participation. I graduated in the bottom 5% of my class. I often relate this to my students. I'm a university professor teaching Quantitative Economics. I speak three languages and have six degrees. I learned nothing during my time at township. My experiences there were more of a hindrance than a help. If you have a choice, send your children elsewhere.

We are not from the area. My children, previously in a local parochial school, came to this school not knowing anyone. Immediately they were well accepted by other students & faculty. My son joined soccer & basketball & though not an experienced player at first, he certainly wasn't driven out. My daughter made lots of friends from all different 'cliques' & after 3 years, still hangs out with them all. She's not involved in any school sports. My son's preference is to have just a few close friends. I attribute their success & acceptance at school to them just being nice kids- nothing more. The school's music department and art classes are fabulous. Sports no doubt is a huge part of teen life. Though I personally think our nation is overly obsessed with sports, it gives children something to do, to strive for, and is physically healthy. Unfortunately, kids who get bullied & excluded are everywhere. But a child's feelings toward others starts at home. I think it's an excellent school and Mr. Koba is a wonderful 'hands-on' principal running a tight ship. Nearly every time I go to the school, I see him in the hallway. We are quite pleased with the school & it's academics.

If you are in the local "clique" you are ok, otherwise forget it. Your kid won't succeed here. This district teaches kids 'it's who you know" not "what you do" that matters. Just look at the staff at the school and their history in the district. It's very easy to see. Don't even think of bringing your child into this school as a new student. They will be miserable and driven out of any sports/activities. Again, it's about the clique and your connections in the area. The school cares more about sports than academics. This school rates success based on a high school sports career and not much beyond that. It's funny to hear others talk about the greatness of this place. It's mostly from those who have never lived or worked outside of the area to see and learn about the real world. This is not a place where your child can be prepared to succeed beyond Davidsville. Keep looking, especially if new to the area.
