This school is awesome. It's a small community. The classrooms have a small amount of students in each class. The adults are great here.

A s a parent of a former student, this is the school for any parents looking for a conservative, Christian and non-diverse environment for their child with learning differences who has no other option. All Edison parents have seen their child struggle through K-8 grades in public or private schools -- Edison parents are generally relieved to know that they can rely on Edison for 9th-12th grade education of their child in an extremely limited, non-challenging and non-diverse environment .

As an Edison Alumnus, I can honestly say that a great deal of my scholastic success after high school was rooted in the lessons, tools, and confidence I gained while in attendance. Being able to take some subjects at a slower pace when I was struggling was invaluable. Having the ability to accelerate through subjects I found easy made a world of difference too. I struggled for 1.5 years to get through the 1-yr curriculum, but I was fast to pick up Geometry and was able to complete the 1-yr curriculum in less than half a year. I have ADHD and a reading comprehension disorder. Thanks to Edison, I am not defined by or allow my differences to be an excuse that holds me back.

As a parent of an Edison student, this is the only private and costly alternative to students who would otherwise be placed in special ed classrooms in Portland area public schools which are beyond sub-par. Edison promises much but has huge grade inflation in a school which is not college prep by any means. Edison is smoke in mirrors: they inflate grades, pander to parents and are not up to date with current best practices for teaching alternative learning differences. This school is stuck in 1970's and does not acknowledge or meet students' needs in the present day.

We believe that every student has the ability to learn and succeed. Edison High School offers the tools, and the support, that enable students with learning differences to discover that ability within themselves. Our mission is to empower students with learning differences/disabilities to experience academic success and personal growth, while preparing them for the future.Small but mighty, our strength lies in our size. An eight-to-one student/teacher ratio allows for an individualized curriculum, and ensures personal attention from our instructors. That focus, coupled with an emphasis on emotional support, opens the door to accomplishment and achievement for our students – many for the first time. We never fail to be moved by it.We see our juniors and seniors begin to dream of a future beyond our walls. We watch our graduates go on to vocational schools, two- or four-year colleges, the workforce or a combination of those options. In short, they are more likely to become the productive, involved, self-sustaining citizens our community needs. We invite you to learn more about what Edison High School can do for your child.
