Like many of the older post, this school STILL has a serious problem with bullies. A serious problem the principal does his best to hide. His way of dealing with bullies is to tell the victim to ignore it. My child should not be told to just ignore it! Why doesn't he tell the bullies to STOP? If he addressed the bullying then he has to admit there was a problem he let get out of control to begin with. What he should be doing is offering a safe place for everyone to go to school and teaching the consequences of bullying and supporting the ones who are being bullied. Emotional abuse is just as bad if not worse then physical abuse. Many of the older post discussed the bully issue many years ago and it still goes on today. Lynchburg Middle School I encourage you to educate yourself on the same websites your school website promotes such as bullying.gov and finally address the issue instead of hiding it!

Bullying is a big problem in this school. The adults know it is happening and turn their heads. No one wants to step up to the plate and do anything because they risk upsetting their friends and relatives. The curriculum is fine and the sports are great if you are very talented or have the right last name. Don't expect a teacher to contact you if your child is struggling. It's up to you to log on and check their grades...There is way too much parental involvement and I do not mean that as a compliment.

I tried numerous times to get help for my child with regard to bullying. The depression and crying have become too much and my child is now going to another school and couldn't be happier.
