Regina Coeli/St Joseph School

This school has potential. Unfortunately, there needs to be a change in leadership. The child should always be first but this school prioritizes the needs of the principal over the students. The principal is out recruiting students for the school, but does not enforce discipline or order. On a visit to the school you will notice the students sloppy appearance. Dress codes are no longer enforced because the principal does not make it a priority. The wonderful teachers at Regina Coeli provide the students with a great education but they can only teach with the resources they are given. The principal does not like to spend money on resources. The teachers that make this school are beginning to retire. Once they all retire Regina Coeli will only have a good religion program left. The school is on their third second grade teacher. The fourth grade teacher retired last year and her replacement lasted two weeks. Next year there will be two new teachers added to the school because the first grade teacher is retiring. Unfortunately, the principal has not done a good job hiring/retaining new teachers. The curriculum does not meet the Ohio Standards. The parents in the younger classes no longer volunteer. The same parents volunteer and host the school events. The previous principals made the schools expectations clear to the parents of children being enrolled. The current principal only cares about increasing enrollment but does not ensure families are aware that the volunteers make the school what it is. Without volunteers the school will fail. A school with great potential but needs a new principal.

We have wonderful and caring teachers! It is a blessing to watch our children grow in their faith. Our children are learning to be great citizens as well as Christians.

We have a great school filled with wonderful loving teachers and staff that treat my children like their own. They get the extra help and attention when they need it and are ahead in their studies. There have been many changes through out all the schools in Alliance and Regina is no different but from what I see we are headed in the right direction. We have Pre-K through 5th grade under one roof, we are still teaching cursive and we offer foreign language beginning in Kindergarten. Lots of things other local schools aren't doing. I couldn't imagine my kids anywhere else!

This school is the best kept secret in Alliance! I currently have 2 children at Regina Coeli St. Joseph School and could not be more pleased. The academics are rigorous, but the kids truly love going to school. Even my younger (non school age) children at home beg to go because they see how eager their siblings are to go to school each day! If you are looking for strong academics and a christian based community this is definitely the place to be. We are very lucky to live in the Alliance area and have such a wonderful school for our PK through 8th grade children.

This school has significant potential; however, due to the lack a good leadership and the unwillingness to accept change, the school remains stagnant.
