Trevor Day School

The best decision we’ve ever made is transferring from my older child’s school to Trevor with his younger sibling. If you want a school that is the unicorn of schools: both nurturing and academically focused-then this is your school.Trust the teachers they know what they’re doing. They are the type of teachers that are life changing. My child is now prepared for middle school (they prep them from 3rd grade so it’s not overwhelming). Once you go through the grades you can see how they’re all connected and lead your child on the right path. I cannot say enough good things about this school. It’s truly a community and the parents are always there to help the other. We never want to leave after drop off even though we have work. You feel happy and comfortable. The teachers and administration know my kids so well-not sure who said retention amongst teachers were low? All the teachers we’ve had so far have been at the school over 15 years and they’re phenomenal. They believe in the school and you can feel it.

I had three children at Trevor Day for many years. Trevor Day is a nice school with a nice community. It's not rigorous, creative or engaging for students but it's fine for the average child. When we started at Trevor, it was more competitive with other private schools. The school has changed considerably over the years and now does not offer admissions to "accelerated students." Most of the time, my children complain about being bored. The materials they bring home are from standard publishers. The administration regularly told us that the school is small and that there is not enough support for staff to create a more engaging curriculum. Most of the good staff leave after a couple of years. The leadership at the elementary school is great, but the middle school leadership is wholly lacking vision and communication skills. For years, I recommended Trevor to friends, but I just can't anymore. The school community has become more of a country club focused on creating average students

Excellent, school is exactly how it presents itself: a rigorous academic environment that focuses on the whole student and encourages independent thinkers.

So far my family and I are having a positive experience at Trevor Day!

My experience at Trevor has been the best of my life. I could not imagine going to high school anywhere else.
