Our experience with PS9 has been terrible to say the very least. Our son's teacher (first grade) from september to the end of october has been absent at least 2 days a week. The Interim Actin principal kept telling us that "her hands were tight" not sure what that meant. In any case, by early November we finally had a new teacher. Not a full time one but at least she was present from monday to Thursday. Unfortunately Friday she had to teach Spanish in an another class. At the end of all this, our son who had excellent grades the previous year, dropped to the lowest grades possible. Teacher not interested in helping, not communicating. "My hands are tight" is what we heard one more time from the Principal IA. At this point, we are seeking to move our child to a charter school. Please consider everything before taking your child to PS9. It USED to be a good school. USED to be. Not anymore.
