Read what parents are saying about Central Park East High SchoolI want to get into this school.
Posted by a parent on 6/20/2021Central Park East is a school with a lot of outside programs available which are excellent SAT preparations can begin as early a your freshman year many kis are still adjusting at this time from middle school to high school so not many take advantage of it till their junior year
Posted by a parent on 12/18/2013This school is good academic wise but it is a terrible school. 445 students share one stepwell which is a safety hazard. There is not water heater which means the water is freezing cold. There is no place to put your jackets which means you literally have to carry everything. The staff does not care. My son asked to receive a new Id card because he list his but the guy in charged only told him to look harder. He gets pulled aside every morning asking where it is but the guy refuses to give him one. In the orientation they show the kids the whole school but they show you the middle school side. Every morning it is hard to go to your next class because 445 students share 1 amd 1/2 hallways

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLexington’s Academy is amazing school. Dr. Hernandez and the staff cared about the children education and well being. I have 2 children that attended the school. 8th grade and kindergarten. I transferred my son to the school in the second grade, because the school he went to was not helping him. My son was behind. When he came to Lexington Academy my son grade improve . And it was the best decision I made. Both my kids love the school. And I would recommend this school. Def one of the best public school in Spanish Harlem .Parent Review1y ago - Ps 108 Assemblyman Angelo Del Toro Educational Com

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attended this school from first grade to eighth grade and graduated June 2023. The teachers here are fantastic. They are smart, hard-working and care very much about the students' well-being. Teachers develop curriculum that is relevant to students culture and interests. The expectations are very high at this school, but teachers are there to support students whenever it's needed. My daughter was well-prepared for High School as a result of her time at 171. The school is safe and students develop close friendships with each other that last even after they leave. Alumni frequently return to speak to current 8th graders to share words of wisdom about HS and to express how the expectations at 171 prepared them. It is a uniform school, just as many public schools are and this is made clear before students enroll at the school. I am so grateful for the education my daughter received and the bonds she formed with friends and staff that she still has today. I highly recommend this school.Parent Review3mo ago - Central Park East I

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a second-year parent at CPE1, we have had a wonderful experiences so far. We've loved how child-centered and progressive the school is -- here are a few examples: the students do weekly "field work" in Central Park; they are currently learning about the history of Hip Hop in music class; they traditionally go ice skating on Monday's in winter; each Monday morning there is an All School Sing with community members; the school hosts an annual book swap (instead of the traditional 'book fair' by Scholastic); every October there is a carnival-like Fall Festival; children experience set blocks of work like math, reading, writing (like any other school), but also have "work time" when they can proactively chose which area to learn in (akin to a Montessori style) ; When we come to school for parent-teacher meetings, those meetings are also attended by our student, who takes the lead in showing and telling us about her work. This is a really special, inclusive, warm, engaging environment and we are so happy to be part of it.Parent Review5mo ago - Mosaic Preparatory Academy

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAwful. Parents are never welcomed. Children are verbally abused by students/staff and constantly bullied. I have witnessed and overheard students in pre-k/k-2 yelled at and intimidated by teachers/faculty.Parent Review4y ago - Highway Christian Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHCA currently has me as a grown man almost 20 years later STILL confused on how they’ve managed to fool parents into thinking that they are a good or even a DECENT enough place to conduct learning for the youth. I personally have attended HCA in the early 2000’s & 22 almost 23 years later their doors are still open. Ironically the administration is the farthest from anything close to being christian. It’s unfortunate but maybe the parents didn’t have the funds to find a better lane of information for their children & this was the best they could do so i don’t blame the parents. BUT i would much rather have my kids HOMESCHOOLED then send them off to that cancerous environment!!!!!Other Review1y ago - Northside Therapeutic Early Childhood Center
