French-American School of New York

There are no words to say how happy we are with this school. Every teacher our kids had in the past years are the kind of teachers that you will remember for a lifetime: dedicated, well trained, passionate about their work and always helping kids to find their best selves.We are very pleased both with academics and sports, as well as other activities provided within the classroom or after school. Music, theater, dance, robotics, coding...the number of activities help our kids to find what they like and who they are. Thanks to the school, for instance, one of our kids discovered he has a passion for robotics and coding. FASNY high school has one of the best Robotics teams in the country and made it to the National championship in Houston, TX, where they will compete in a few weeks.in FASNY, kids don't only learn academics, they also learn to be a good person and to be more independent: I could mention the field trips organized for 5th graders in Massachussets, where they learn to leave their parents for a few days. I can also mention the suspended gardens made in 1st grade to talk about the environment, or all the actions they organize to teach kids to help their own community.We also like that compared to a "lycee français" (we tried that before), FASNY is truly an American school, where our kids still get to cover the French program.

I could not be happier with my ya experience here. There are not many ratings as I don’t believe the population that attends the school are really the type to rate, or toot their own horn. The school was a huge change for us as neither my wife nor I had any connection to the French language. The experience has, however, been warm and loving, accepting but intense... out child has grown into aLovely, well behaved, intelligent child who is extremely well rounded. Much of this is clearly due to the environment she is in at school.
