Read what parents are saying about Brooklyn Urban Garden Charter SchoolMy daughter is currently a 6th grader at BUGS and loves it. We have been very happy with the school - fantastic mission, enthusiastic and caring teachers and a great sense of community. We love the small size of the school, the diversity of the student body, and the parent involvement we've witnessed. She is thriving - joined student government, signing club and is doing well academically. What sold us on the tours was the feedback from the current students. They were great and that says a lot about the school and how they showcase it!
Posted by a parent on 1/28/2020The school is very organized. We love BUGS hands-on, project based approach to leaning and love their mission to weave "sustainability" throughout all the courses and the fact that they use technology to minimize the use of paper. Most importantly, our son loves it.

Posted by a parent on 3/22/2018I love this school! My daughter is finally looking forward to going to school. She is excited about her education. As a parent of a child who used to hate the idea of school, I am overjoyed by her new found enthusiasm. Thanks to everyone at BUGS!
Posted by a parent on 12/4/2017My daughter wakes up each morning looking forward to the school day. She likes her teachers and doesn't complain about doing homework each night. Doesn't like to be late or absent. Comes home and shares with me all about her day. As a parent I feel very welcomed in the school. Overall my opinion may not matter much, What does is the love my daughter goes to school with each day looking forward to learning. I wish this school would go up to 12 grade.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePS 295 is an absolute gem - small, inclusive in all senses, warm and vibrant community. My kid is currently in K and we've been blown away by the skill and dedication of his teachers, and amazed all all he has learned in a few short months. My kid is young for his year, and struggles with anxiety and some fine motor delays. This kid was only scribbling over the summer, he is writing words and drawing self portraits now.The way PS 295 has met him where he is, truly connected with him, and is nurturing his growth is beyond my expectations of any school.Parent Review4mo ago - Ps 107 John W Kimball

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI cannot express how much I love this school and how grateful I am that my son attends PS 130. He's had some of the most wonderful teachers and the chess program is incredible and has propelled him into another universe for the better. He wouldn't have been exposed to chess through any other means and through that he's learned how to navigate loss, built confidence, and sharpened his strategic capabilities. The PS 130 community is amazing, diverse, and welcoming. My only critique is I sometimes feel there could be more homework or a tiny bit more focus on academics -- but I wouldn't send him anywhere else. He's getting a well-rounded education and is surrounded by tons of caring staff and feels supported. Test scores don't give the full picture. Thank you, PS 130!Parent Review2mo ago - Ps 230 Doris L Cohen

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family joined International Christian school in 2021 and it has been a huge success with our kids academics and social emotional development. Everyone on staff is very attentive and professional. Classes are small which is a great environment for learning. Curriculum is rich and very engaging. Recently the school location was moved to Carroll Gardens and its such an amazing, well lit and spacious facility. There are several very good playgrounds in the area for afterschool unwind. One of our children is uncompromised so having spacious facility and small class size is very beneficial.Parent Review1y ago - St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAn involved principal, who is also a parent and an educator, coupled with caring teachers and small class sizes make St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Academy an ideal elementary and middle school choice. The teachers are all very accessible to parents as well. The school is in a neighborhood that is very safe and conveniently located across the street from the F/G train, and a short ride from Prospect Expressway for those who don't live in walking distance. I've been very happy to have my son at school here since 4th grade. He's now in 7th, and I'm just sad that St. Joseph the Worker doesn't have a high school.Parent Review3w ago - Immaculate Heart Of Mary
