Read what parents are saying about Mott Haven Community High SchoolThey enforce very unfair rules such as no bathroom access for multiple periods a day, denying access to students coming after 9:15 am no matter the reason, and only letting one person out of the room at a time. I have been denied access to the school many times due to delays in trains/buses, and everyday i have to wait 30 mins+ just to use the bathroom because the students sit around all day talking to the advisors in the halls or friends in the bathrooms. I used to love this school, but now i dread waking up to go to it since i have to decide whether i should stay at home or waste my money on train fairs and hope theirs not even a minute delay or i risk getting sent back home.
Posted by a parent on 1/4/2023My child called me at 930 Am saying she was denied access in the freezing cold because she was 10 minutes late. She has to travel by train and bus for nearly an hour just so they can send her back home. They wasted her travel fairs, her time, and left her feeling disrespected. This school has been good but ever since they denied access to students for being late my child has dreaded going to school. I even tried driving her to school everyday but that didn't work since traffic held us up for 40+ mins, she has been denied access many times. Her attendance has never been this bad her whole life, and her grades are starting to decline.
Posted by a parent on 1/4/2023Mott Haven Community High School has helped my grandson become an honor roll student. He is at this time preparing for prom and graduation. The schools in the past had no knowledge of understanding how to prepare a black young man for the future. Parents need teachers of a school to help with raising their young men and women. Thank You Mott Haven Community HS. We need more schools in the south Bronx like this.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy youngest son in the 3rd grade I never seen to have any problems with his teacher there amazing and good energy my son comes out happy and excited about school and learning but my oldest son in the 5 grade some of the teachers seem to have attitude and bad vibes, my son comes out sad most the time or miserable, the teachers quick to tell the social workers anything & some of the social workers have bad vibes as well make the parent feel uncomfortable and almost feel like you’re being bullied and picked on by these people there way of communicating with the parents makes you feel threatened just because the child either is tired or simply doesn’t want to do the work. My son tells me there mean and that he try’s and he’s also disabled but to them it’s not enough & quick to tell the parents it’s neglect even when you do you’re part as a concerned parent & request evaluation & more programs to help the child but they will still stick together & make you feel like you’re not doing enough. Terrible vibes and communication wouldn’t recommend this school they need more positive and better workers who actually love and care for these kids.Parent Review1y ago - Ps 25 Bilingual School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSt Anselm has come along way. Things were shaky in the beginning but now with our new principal things are really shaping up. I am proud to have my children attend St Anselm school. They are always eager to learn and are treated with compassion.Parent Review1y ago - Girls Prep Bronx Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Principal at this school need not be here and she is not a principal for this school in the Bronx area, she does not know how to speak to the parents, I had a very serious thing had to my granddaughter, where another other child touched her private parts and she refuses to move her from the same classroom, she and the other staff literally say that my granddaughter is lying, that the child inappropriately touches her leg, what is the child hands doing on her legs. they expect the child and the kids around to say she did it or they see, it is just a natural thing she knows she ( the child) did wrong and she is in trouble. so she's not going to say she did it, and the kids do not want to get involved so they say they do not know. she said she speaks her network and that's what they tell her to do.Parent Review1y ago
