I went to this school way back in 1959 - 1963 ( 5th - 8th grade). It was the worst 4 years of my life between the student bullying and teacher bullying. I am amazed that I survived to attend public high school where I actually got a great education. My experience in those 4 years turned me off to the catholic dogma and tough guy mindset. Today I have had a successful career thanks to public education in high school and university. I look back on those 4 years as a total waste.

My boys attend St. Martin of Tours and I have to say the teachers, staff and most importantly the principal (Mr.Parisi) are all so amazing. I have had some concerns in the past and Mr.Parisi was compassionate and helped resolve any and all concerns I had. I absolutely love this school and my kids are so happy there. What I love the most about it is that it is a family community and through the whole pandemic they did such an amazing job of keeping it as normal as it could be for the students.

As parents our main goal is to make decisions that will leverage the best possible prospects for our children, affording them the most opportunities and the brightest of futures. I can say unequivocally that enrolling my child in St. Martin has been one of the best decisions I could have made. I fell in love immediately. The sense of community, the focus on students as individuals, and the emphasis on kindness and compassion are the qualities that set the school apart from the rest. The rigorous academics are bolstered by small class sizes and teachers who are highly qualified, interested, and caring. Under the superb leadership of the current principal and outstanding staff-both the teachers and administrators-the school never broke stride in the constantly changing, tenuous circumstances of the Pandemic. They adapted and changed persistently to the ever changing circumstances these past few months-never wavering in their pursuit of academic excellence or the cultivation of the students' emotional well being. My child is thriving at St. Martin and we are thrilled to call it home.

When we first toured this school 8 years ago, we immediately knew our children would be cared for and nurtured. Our children began their journey in the nursery program. The teachers go above and beyond for their students. We were impressed with how our school handled the lockdown last March, from the way the teachers seamlessly adapted to the new learning platforms, to the caring and professionalism expressed by our new principal. He was only in the position for a month or so before the lockdown and we are so grateful for his leadership during these unprecedented events. Another aspect that impresses me greatly is how his teachers have modified instruction and made accommodations for my child’s learning challenges. All these years later, we can say we were glad we chose St. Martin’s.

LOVE LOVE LOVE our St. Martin's family. Our family started our education journey with SMT in 1972. We have 5 graduates, myself included, and one currently in 6th grade. When I returned to Long Island in 2017, I immediately enrolled my 2 children at SMT, without question. This school and Parish has been our home for decades. My children have and continue to receive an outstanding education based in academic excellence and strong faith. The school and faculty, under the leadership of our new principal, is flourishing.
