10 Parent Reviews for Cooperstown Junior/senior High School

I am responding to the post of dropping the redskins name. My son was pretty upset over the name change. The board has already chosen names and if you go to the schools website, you too can vote on the names that the are proposing. But if you talk to most of the sports players and even most of the people ...  Read more

I recently read in Buffalo paper that my high school wants to change the name of redskins. I am totally shocked that the school is considering doing so. I am 1961 grad. who will be sadden by this action. Society has become over the years way to sensitive that being said if the action is taken I would ...  Read more

so many great teachers middle school through high school. Strong in core subjects. Frustration of late with all the testing that the state now requires with the new guidelines. Caring, hardworking teachers and great students.

A decline in faculty quality over the years has led to this once great school's decline. The administration appears to lack the strength to guide an uninterested staff.

Great sports, and music programs. Weak on literary extracurtricular activities. The teachers here are in love with these kids and believe in them all.My two kids, only ran into 2 lousy teachers. The rest were excellent.

There are not many extracurricular activities for children who are not athletic. Parents' concerns are oftentimes dismissed. The only positive I've seen so far is that there are many caring, supportive, empathetic (but frustrated) teachers, who with a some more experience, have possibly great potential.

The teachers and staff show favortism towards students who have wealthy families. The academic programs are good, but could be better. I have also found there to be alot of bullying in the middle/high school.

Academic programs are very basic in elementary school. Advance classes taught by volunteer parents. Teaching seems to be geared to state tests. Teachers are friendly but some need to be motivated and support staff need more training.

I have had three children in the district over the last five years (elementary, middle and high school.)I found the teachers and administration to be very professional and caring. However, if you are new to the district beware of the sports and scholarship programs Overall, I believe my children received ...  Read more

Both of my kids graduated from this school. I found the teachers played favorites with the doctor's kids and gave these kids the breaks. In view of this I feel that it was a good thing because it has pushed my kids to go out and be extremely successful. The math department is terrible. Most of the ...  Read more
