6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere has been a lot of bulling from the students and even the teachers. The teachers would talk badly about the students sometimes calling then names and one special needs teacher has been seen multiple times yelling at students and talking bad about her own students about how they smell amd how they can't do anything right. In some cases a lot of students bulling would go on so badly that a lot of kids left the school after being threatened to getting beaten up. I would not recommend this school because of their rules with dress code and dress coding almost all the females and some times males for having something "inappropriate" on their "free" dress day sexulazing them over their body type. (Note most of one's getting dress coded were in appropriately outfits).Other Review6mo ago - Kit Carson Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs far as homework, Kit Carson Elementary School is a very good school to go to. Homework is assigned on Monday and is due on Friday of that same week. The teachers are very nice. The only time the teachers aren't nice to students is during discipline. When the teachers get a bad note from a substitute, the lecture is for everyone because you knew what was expected from your teacher so all of the students saying the teacher was mean are only saying this because they got yelled at for doing the things that they did. I am a former student at Kit Carson and it was a pleasure being there. I was there from Pre-K to 5th grade and never have I been accused of doing something I know I didn't do. This school needs improvement on how they work on bullying. I think when students are bullied the teachers aren't addressing the situation as they should. Every teacher, counselor, and principal has faith in all of their students no matter how the child acts. I do believe that some of the issues that go on with students are because of what they are taught at home. Some parents feel the need to not address some situations with their children and I understand why, but the things that your child does, they get it from their parents so parents need to watch what they are doing around their children. Overall this school is a very good school and I recommend for every student that lives on the westside to go there.Other Review3y ago - Marion E Cahlan Elementary School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school gets additional funding for being a one-star school and lacks books my other son's 5-star school gets less funding and has more books and resources than this school (direct observation)! Their financial statements should be audited because I can't see the funds going to the kids (personally). If I were zoned for this school I would get a zone variance. 1-star schools are so far below average how can you expect your child to learn. They are the bottom of the National averages. Safety - 2 words - School lockdowns for hours with no communication on if the child is safe. Teachers are instructed to not answer the parent's text or call in lockdown. The special ed program just wants you to keep your child in the program and make up reports to keep getting the funding. The Special ED teacher said he would edit his report and never did!Parent Review1y ago - H P Fitzgerald Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRainbow Dreams Early Learning Academy is an ahhhmazing school! My children and niece have been attending more than 2 years. This school is very special. Ms. Henry truly cares about the children's success and she is the foundation of the school. All of the staff are very hands on, communicate well, and really cares for the students. There is no other school similar that offers everything that Rainbow Dreams provide for Pre-K and Kindergarteners. I have 5 children under 5 and every last child will begin their education at age 3 at Rainbow Dreams. We are very grateful that are children can begin school at 3 years of age as long as they are potty-trained and can communicate. That policy is in place for a reason and is needed so that they children can focus on learning at an early age. This school provides breakfast, lunch, snacks, complete uniforms at NO COST to the parents, whatsoever. In addition, school is from 8:00 am- 3:00 pm and they provide an early and afternoon program (DREAM CARE) that starts at 6:30 am and the afternoon program is until 5:00 pm (which really works with my work schedule) and this is at NO COST to the parents as well. Again, NO OTHER school offers children an opportunity with an advanced curriculum, uniforms, food and after programs for FREE! Any parent who does not agree with the way that Rainbow Dreams is ran can easily send their child to another school. Not only is Rainbow Dreams the best school offered to children starting at 3, Ms. Henry has created a very unique program that contributes to creating a great academic foundation for children. She and her staff deserve to be acknowledged for making a difference in the underprivileged Black community. I wish this school offered elementary, middle and High School because my children would absolutely attend.Parent Review6mo ago
