Read what parents are saying about Nut Swamp Elementary SchoolFantastic, set the foundation for a very solid education. Promoted positive character traits as well. I was a student here and I am now studying for my MD. Could not have been happier with my time and the education I received at Nut Swamp.
Posted by a community member on 9/28/2017As a parent who had two kids go through Nut Swamp, I would say the environment is non-competitive and the investment in the school is on the outside, not the inside. A very expensive roof and a $1MM+ dollar athletic field was built for some reason..I have no idea. Yet, their library is TINY and I mean tiny. There is no band practice area and the school is old and has a very small gym (no stands). The teachers are hit and miss in regards to homework. I just don't think it's challenging enough. That said, there is little to no bullying and this school is "on the good side of the tracks". The Middle school is across the street and the High School is 1/2 mile away
Posted by a parent on 4/30/2017My son attended KG at Nut Swamp, we put him in private school (BIG mistake) and are putting him back in Nut Swamp for 2nd grade. I love the environment, the office staff is phenomenal, and the teachers are wonderful, especially his KG teacher. I have found the other parents to be warm and welcoming, and see a lot of parent involvement which lends to the nurturing environment at the school. My son really loved this school, and can't wait to start 2nd grade in the fall!
Posted by a parent on 6/13/2012We have had a wonderful experience at NutSwamp. I have found the teachers to be very eager to help and always available when I needed to speak with them. While homework often does consist of a printed homework sheet, they also have had project assignments and book reports to be done in creative ways. There are also numerous grade level enrichment programs such as Understanding Disablilties and Project Pride which are done throughout the school year. The parents are very involved in PTA and school events. I find it to be a great school with a great staff!
Posted by a parent on 7/22/2011Both my children are enrolled in Nut Swamp and I feel it is wonderful! As a mother with a degree in Education, I can honestly say I am impressed with staff and the parents. The parental support is unbelievable. Very impressed with the new principal too!

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFairview Elementary is an excellent school, starting with the dedicated leadership of their principal who is intimately involved with the running of the school and inculcates a sense of belonging amongst the staff and children. The teachers are a pleasure to deal with and immediately address any issues and also encourage the child when they do well. They build a sense of family and community. We are so glad we moved to this school and wish them the very best in the future. Truly exceptional leadership with a caring and dedicated staff. Moving our child out of an overpaid private school that was extremely inadequate and only cared about money not the well being of their students was the best thing we did. Fairview Elementary is the place to be, a small town feel with a strong sense of community.Parent Review3y ago - Middletown Village Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRed Bank’s Primary School continues to improve. It is a valuable addition to our community. There are challenges associated with the level of diversity in our school that are often misconstrued as negatives because of how many rating systems function. Come to Red Bank and talk to our leaders and you’ll understand the amazing growth, development and progress in our schools and how your child will thrive in this excellent environment.Other Review3y ago - St Marys School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere is a reason so many kids are pulling their children from this school. Just ask Middletown BOE. It’s not a coincidence that there are so many students transferring out before and during middle school when parents see what the school is truly about. What was once a wonderful institution of leaning, family, and compassion for community has turned into the church’s money grab. The teachers are unhappy and treated poorly. The bullying and lack of consequences are out of control. The lack of technology based learning is putting the students behind as compared to the public school students in the area. They are all about how much money they can make per family. There is no concern for student well being. Please don’t make the same mistake I did. They are very persuasive and wonderful in the preschool and kindergarten to get you though the doors but soon their true colors show.Parent Review4mo ago - St James Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience at Saint James Elementary has been deeply unsatisfactory due to a lack of full-time counseling services, neglect of student voices, attempts to push conservative and republican views onto students, and the invalidation of religious beliefs based on political views. This school claims that they are big on anti-bullying, but the amount of times the students had been told by staff to “just ignore the bullying” is unbelievable. These concerning issues have left us disappointed and concerned. We hope that our feedback will prompt the school administration to address these shortcomings promptly and create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all students.Parent Review10mo ago - Oak Hill Academy
