Read what parents are saying about Whitney M Youngim not sure yet how much I like this school but I feel like the administration is lacking something. the teachers seem helpful but not to the extent that i would like. i thinki will be pulling my kids out of this school
Posted by a parent on 1/9/2014My son currently attends pre-K special program in this school. My son is currently non-verbal. His teacher always ensures my wife and I are aware of what s going on with my son in school, either via notes left on my son s book bag or via phone calls. We appreciate that extra mile. However, the class is short on aid/assistants that are very important among kids with special needs. It could be the school district s fault but in any case, the school has to work that out. For that reason, I don't believe this school is a great choice for parents looking for special program.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageP.S.20 would be a happier and healthier environment under different leadership. I’ve witness the principal speak down to the female staff, and mock the children. My family transferred here from NYC, and if it wasn’t for the relationships my children built with their teacher, I would’ve removed them. I highly doubt Mr ileya have children or even likes them in that case. I also get a “hello” when I’m wearing my business suit, on the days I work from home and wear a sweat suit he treats me in accordance to his perception. Other parents feel the same about the lack of leadership on the principals behalf, I even recorded his “ death stare of disgust” when looking at children unaware he’s being watched. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son transferred to this school in late September and it has been a breath of fresh air! The staff is accessible and polite. They make sure the children experience life outside of the school with regular trips and programs.
