Read what parents are saying about Chaplain Charles Watters SchoolIts not right what the teachers do to black kids when black kids do something they say something mean and yell at us but when someone white do something they do nothing.
Posted by a parent on 3/14/2022This is school is not good at all bully's are everywhere some of my teachers are racist and even curse at us. The school is dirty and all you hear is cursing and fighting in the hallways
Posted by a parent on 3/14/2022My sister went to this school and the teachers seemed like they were afraid of the students. The students threw chalk and what not at the teachers and the students were never really reprimanded for it. I was told one story where a substitute teacher had a prosthetic leg and the "children" kept kicking his prosthetic leg and throwing things at him the entire time. My sister was mortified and was seriously afraid to attend school afterwards, but she really didn't have a choice. I don't ever question why some teachers quit or just transfer jobs if they can. The experience that I am describing happened years ago but I find it hard to imagine that this school has changed much since then. I suspect that this school is doing much worse now than it has ever done before.
Posted by a parent on 12/22/2020I went to this school a long time ago, and it doesn't sound like it has gotten any better. I remember the teachers I had were very nice but the kids there were horrible. During instruction you would have students pulling other students pants down revealing their underwear. Most of the time you would have kids jumping on desks, having fist fights, chasing students, throwing other students lunches on the floor. I remember one time in kindergarten the teacher threatened to take several students to the spanking room for their behavior. The school is a bad environment don't send your child there

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child loves going to school here. Wakes up excited everyday to go. Some of the administrators I’ve dealt with are amazing. Parents are meh. Not everyone’s friendly but that’s the least of my worries. There are several flaws. As a parent, I shouldn’t be the last person alerted of things happening with my child. Especially if they’re being looked at as “essential”. I also encountered a teacher that quite clearly couldn’t handle the class and seemed to have a personal vendetta against my child. They rarely dealt with them directly but had all the opinions and “issues” in the world that I didn’t know about. The special education services are practically non-existent. It’s “funny” that their website states that 10-15% of their students receive SPED services, yet the provisions are lacking. And that’s certainly an understatement. The inclusivity is not there. Charter or not, it should be illegal how insufficient the Special Ed is here. If you have a child that requires SPED or has an IEP, save your time and go elsewhere. They are unequipped and uneducated on dealing with such circumstances. You will be pawned off to be “someone else’s problem”.I will be moving to a charter that actually cares for and works with their SPED students. And certainly making some noise upon exiting. I can’t speak on the upper grades as I don’t intend on my child getting that far at all. But seeing as the school scores high in most proficiency lists for JC, I’d assume the regular education is “of standard”. Sadly, I will not be staying to find out. I would recommend this school if your child is complacent and needs little to no help. I can’t recommend otherwise.Parent Review4mo ago - Ollie Culbreth Jr. School

I truly recommended being involved with the school and participate in their events, join the PTA and build a relationship with the teachers and principal. It truly makes a difference!Parent Review5y ago - James F. Murray No. 38 Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBadr school is one of the best Islamic and educational schools for pre-k to 8th grade. Student to teacher ratio is 8 to1 and they push kids hard academically. They might not have the fanciest building but it's what is taught in the classrooms that matter. Teachers are caring and everybody at the school gives kids individualized attention.Parent Review2y ago - Genesis Academy
