N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI want to be fair so I'm rating it 3 stars instead of the 2 that I'd like to give. Why would I give it 2 stars? They don't take children safety seriously. Instead of asking YOU to verify YOUR address or personal info on file, they blurt it out to whoever is calling what address you have listed. So if you ever wondered where a family lived, all you have to do is call and say, "I'm not sure what my spouse put on file this year....can you tell me what you have?" And bam! You have that person's address. NOT SAFE! Would this be okay if it were your credit card company? I think we should protect our kids more than our credit. That being said, the staff that I have encountered are all very nice and they have been willing to work with my children on a personal basis. The only complaint that I have is my child has a slight speech problem and I brought this up in kindergarten (even as the parent I can hear/notice it) and they said "it's normal for kids this age". It wasn't until first semester of 1st grade that they finally began to address it. Now that they are actually working with my child, I can see a tremendous difference! Children are supposed to do reading twice a week with parents and parents are supposed to fill out a chart with the book title, their initials, etc. My child is HORRIBLE at turning assignments in and I have said, "Turn this into your teacher!" The sheet has been full (completely filled out) since January and it is still in the backpack every evening and it's almost April. When I went to the last parent/teacher conference (the only one I was given a sheet to sign up for), I told the teacher "My child isn't very good at bringing things home/returning them to school so you might want to double check the folders/bookbag." You'd think after 3 months she might notice no reading assignments have been turned in. The school takes no accountability for items stolen (lunch boxes, pencil cases) or for broken items (reading glasses). I know it's not their responsibility, but maybe if they watched the children, they'd know who's stealing/taking things or acting like a fool breaking stuff. Overall, the education isn't "terrible" but could be better. I guess given the area, it's as best they can do.Parent Review8y ago - St Mary Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attends school here, as did I. She has the same teachers I had when I was there. Where can you find that kind of loyalty and dedication anywhere in the world, let alone in a school. To walk your child in and you're greeted with a hug and how are you because they remember you. 99% of these students are above grade level. They are instilled with morals and proper etiquette. I think the staff and students are extraordinary. I couldn't imagine a better place to send you children.Parent Review13y ago - Bible Baptist Academy
