Rockwood South Middle School

If I could give a zero I would. This is my kids 8th year at Rockwood School District including 2 years of Pre-School. This year they started Rockwood South Middle School and it has been the worst experience of our lives. Latest, one of the teachers emailed me to say she was uncomfortable and upset over a comment my son made and would be investigating to see if it was SEXUAL HARRASSMENT! Thats a felony. Within 2 hours the situation was determined to be a mistake on the teachers part and they apologized and said lets just chalk this up to a lesson learned. Actually, no I will not just forget you accused my 11 year old of a FELONY. If you value peace and not having your child tied up in knots on a daily basis this is not the school for you. This is by far the worst of the situations but every week its something.. Not all teachers are bad at this school but there are plenty of bad teachers at this school, especially the science teacher. She is bordering on harassment and abuse. Rockwood has School Choice without bus route so you can attend any Rockwood School of your choice. I highly recommend getting as far away from this one as possible.

They take calling your parents super aggressive and Evan lie about how Much homework u have i have had time my mom gets calls or emails that i had SO MUCH homework to do and have gotten grounded bc of the emails the teachers ave sent this is the worst school i have ever been to the teachers do nothing about bulling and all the teachers are super mean and dont care about there students and have probably never did this school use to be a five star now its a three stars. this is a lot of people's opinions on this school Please I'm warning u do NOT go to this school!! Please i beg you DO NOT go here

Poor. We moved to be in the Rockwood District, but the bullying is terrible and the leadership doesn't do anything about it. We are looking to move into the Parkway District.

Moving to Summit school district has been a life-changing experience for my son & myself. We are a low-income single parent family. My sons grades have improved tremendously, his self-esteem, and he's made amazing friends. Financially they have supplied all the support we needed to allow my son to be involved from sports to camp and school supplies. This is what the DOE was referring to when they said, "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND". Thank you Summit. I feel truly blessed.

I am never exited to go to school. I have been chocked out at lunch and have been bullied for many months. You should not send your kid to this branch of the Rockwood school district. The teachers have consistently done nothing about people bullying me. I have been called marshmallow, fat, and many other names that I cannot even say to my parents. I have been told to kill my self too.That is why you should not send your kid here.
