Read what parents are saying about Williams Elementary SchoolThis used to be a good school. The teachers are great, but the problem is the people they have to report to are all about pushing their flawed and very woke political views on to the students. I have heard very age inappropriate comments from my kids that I have had to correct (such as a 5 year old repeating untrue BLM propaganda). When I ask them where they heard this information from, they tell me from school. During distance learning last year, I was able to hear about 30-45 minutes daily of this type of indoctrination in my other kid's class. On the positive side, my kids have learned how to read and do math at this school.

Our kids went there for 4 years and I really can't say enough about the principal, teaching staff and special education instructors. They are dedicated to the academic performance of the kids but also there development as individuals both socially and emotionally. The parents are fabulous and the school is a warm community. Their CARES program is excellent, and the kids are great. As a mom with a special needs child, I can also say their IEP process if amazing. No more tears, and my child is now pretty much at grade level performance. If you're looking for a school that educates the whole child and values individuals and community, EDW is for you. I am so sad relocating is taking us away from here. I hope our new school can live up to our expectations from EDW.

Posted by a parent on 5/12/2015EDW Is an amazing school. Teachers and administrators are very engaged in student success (both emotionally and intellectually). There is great open communication and the school values of caring, assertion, responsibility, empathy and self control are woven into everything students and teachers do. As someone who works in many schools in neighboring districts I know we have something special at EDW. It's a wonderful community with amazing teachers, parents, students, and administrators all dedicated to the success of all students. We love this school!
Posted by a parent on 1/27/2015My children have gone to EDW since preschool (5 years now). Couldn't be happier with the school. Very engaged principle who knows every child by name. Love the small size giving me a chance to know most of the other children and the teachers. I'm sorry another parent had an issue with bullying. When there were incidents involving two of my children the school stepped in immediately. They didn't just say it wasn't allowed. They also set up times for both the parents and children to meet to work it out. If I could improve anything with EDW, it would be smaller classroom sizes and exposure to a second language.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStarting at kindergarten, everything was fine. Slowly, more and more strict teachers came around, then soft teachers, then strict. During this, we were always told how well they deal with bullying. Every hall you walk in, there was "NO BULLYING!" posters. It was 6th grade, and after a year of online learning, I prayed the person from my school would stop torturing me. They didn't. I had video evidence of the kid saying swear words and slurs, but the vice-principal didn't care. It was "online" so it "didn't matter", but it was seriously affecting my mental health. He even threatened me, and they just brushed it off. Learning was okayish, half the teachers were good, special education kids rarely got seen, and they had zero care about bullying. I asked my sister recently, who went there 10 years ago. Back in her day, they just hoped the bullying would go away. Just like today. Better for earlier grades, worse for later grades. I switched schools because they just COULDN'T punish the bully, and they even sided with the bully. I had gotten in trouble rarely, while the bully had gotten in trouble over 20+ times IN EACH GRADE. I am more happy at the new school which deals with bullys. I rate PCS 1/5 stars for later grades.Student Review1y ago - St Rose Of Lima Elementary School

The teacher retention at the school is remarkable; it is a school in which 10+ year tenures are typical. I believe the retention of teachers is due to the huge support of the community and families. They were in person all year and strived to provide education to all students no matter what was occurring.
