Read what parents are saying about Carpenter SchoolMy kids go to this school and we absolutely love it. We had doubts with it being an older school and in a low income area, but were we ever wrong. The teachers all amazing and helpful. I have never felt so welcomed in a school and the pto has done things I have never seen in other schools. They are all about keeping families involved and giving the kids well earned surprises. We went to siebert first and there was one teacher to 27 kids and no teacher aids. At carpenter its an average of one teacher per 17 kids and usually 2 or 3 aids. I absolutely love it
Posted by a parent on 9/26/2014My daughter just started Kindergarten this fall. She looks forward to school everyday. She loves her teacher and her classroom. She is now beginning to read. I'm impressed w/her progress in such a short time. She has a large class (27 kids). Quite a challenge for her teacher but she manages to give each child individual attention.

We love Carpenter! The school is full of dedicated, teachers with lots of years of experience. The student body is economically diverse with a small family type atmosphere. The building is beautiful, especially the kindergarten rooms with the large bow windows and wood work. We are delighted to live in the Carpenter district! Our children are thriving and love school!

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAdams elementary used to be one of the best and most competitive school in Midland. However it’s quality of education has dropped substantially in recent years. Hopefully the new principal with teachers would be able to bring back the passion& love & responsibility to teach the kids. There seem more unqualified teachers in the school & also lack effective commutation channels between school/teacher & parents. Wish the best for Adams.Parent Review1mo ago - Chestnut Hill School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt is one those schools who relied on past experience to show that it is the same school. It has had an influx of young teachers that has brought down the overall experience. They lost that mentoring approach with young teachers. My children has had several teachers in the school. The average years of experience between the teachers averaging less than ten years each. With over half of them with less three years each. I was told that one of the teachers that they just brought in mid year 2020-2021 school year has been at three different schools in three years. I am still trying to figure out their specials teachers. They seem to be switched out year to year. Art, Music, band, language arts. The library, gym and cafeteria are new, the rest of the build does show it's age.Other Review2y ago - Plymouth Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school caters to Midlands Elite and sees everyone else as second class citizens. There is no support for special needs, students of color, LGBTQ or students who are getting bullied. If you're child gets bullied by a kid who is considered "Midlands Elite", good luck getting any kind of resolution until its too late. You can focus in test scores all you want but if you want a mentally healthy child, look elsewhere.Other Review2y ago - Bullock Creek Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt's been a year since we switched to private school and frankly my wife and I are still apalled at some of the stories our daughter tells us after finishing first grade. A gym teacher should never tell a student that was in tears because they were just hit by another student and getting ganged up and picked on by a group of others that they need to toughen up and go run 5 laps while crying. There is so much developmentally wrong with that. We have had 0 problems from the teachers and students at our daughter's new school. No physical violence and no bullying. Our daughter enjoys going and the teachers are kind.Parent Review1y ago - St John's Lutheran School
