Posted by a community member on 9/15/2018Allegan Alternative students often describe their school community as a family. With a tight-knit staff that cares for each individual's progress, and a mixed population of students who demonstrate the beauty in diversity, its easy to see why them feel at home. Here, the basic needs of students are made a priority, as overcoming the roadblocks of daily life is essential if making academic progress is to become a reality. I recommend this school for any student who feels like a personalized approach to education would help them be more successful!
Posted by a teacher on 2/16/2017I love this school. It has had such an amazing impact on my life. I love the teachers, staff, and most of the students who go there. I wouldn't switch to the regular high school for anything!! Allegan Alternative has given me a second chance at the way I look at high school. The classes are amazing and I feel like I belong there.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe just transferred to this school at the beginning of Jan. 2017. Every staff member we have met has been very helpful & friendly. Mr. Orr has gone above and beyond in making us feel like part of the Dawson family. He met with us over the holiday break to show our daughter the school and her classroom. He took additional time after the first day of school to check in with us and see that she had a good first day. This attention to detail is something we are truly grateful for and will never forget.
