Read what parents are saying about Falmouth Middle SchoolAcademically the school is adequate, I would not even say stellar, most teachers are good. However, the school premises are run down and old, especially for the kids that come from the nearly brand new elementary school. My biggest problem with the school is the lack of support when it comes to the social climate and bullying. I have spent a good portion of my year dealing with the situational bullying, contacted staff at the school, and all they do is talk to my child- she’s not the problem! This is not my first ordeal with the middle school and I find that there is no really consistent message in regards to bullying other than not to do it. My other child was bullied so badly that he would get a stomach ache every day before school. The reputation of the school locally is that the kids are not called out on bad behavior and that even really troubled kids don’t get any sort of consequences or suspensions.

Posted by a community member on 4/7/2017Moved 1200 miles two years ago so that our daughter could be educated in one of the best public middle schools in the country. As a math & science prodigy our child has had unique learning needs since age 3. Principal Palfrey was a wonderful administrator. Our daughter's accelerated Math teachers ( Hebert & Bennett) were amazing. Her 7th grade science teacher ( Stuart) was absolutely perfect for our daughter. Her social studies teachers ( Shain & Stein) wonderful. Only complaint is the lack of consistency in accelerated ELA. Our daughter has been embraced by her peers as a nerdy, hyper smart athlete. She has friends from all corners of the school. It's cool to be smart at FMS and everything is done to be sure the smartest students are well challenged and prepared for high school. The Debate program is a gem. The parent community supportive and surprisingly non pretentious considering the wealth in our community. Bring on 8th grade! Our daughter can not wait.
Posted by a parent on 8/21/2014falmouth high school maine. the school needs to put into more safety level. my child got cyber bullied and harassed and the principle did nothing at all to stop the other child from hacking and stealing and social media and threats . the school didn't do a thing my child ended up calling the falmouth department to seak harrasment orders against a few people. disgusted
Posted by a parent on 8/8/2014The school has a great teaching staff and offers many extra curricular activities from lacrosse to small group chorus and jazz band. It's as good as any private school and the kids and parents are very involved and committed.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePine Grove is the perfect balance of Montessori education and pre-Kindergarten academic preparation. After two years at Pine Grove, our daughter has made amazing growth socially, emotionally and academically. She is ready, in every way, to enter Kindergarten. She also leaves with a strong value for her peers, the natural world, and understanding that 'work' ultimately brings success.Parent Review10y ago - Grace Baptist Church School

I couldn't wait to remove my kids from this horrible school.Parent Review12y ago
