Read what parents are saying about Century High SchoolThe administration at the school falls short when it come to enforcing their policies around drug use and vaping. Century High School and its teachers offer some very good rigorous academic programs. This school caters to the well behaved and highly motivated teen.
Posted by a parent on 4/24/2022If you're moving to the area, I would highly recommend this school. I was only able to go to Century for a year, but after having to move away, I realized how amazing this school was. The best part was the community. Everyone at Century was nice, whether it be the students, the teachers, and guidance counselors who actually care and want you to succeed. I was a nerd, yet I was still able to be friends with cheerleaders, the track team, etc. I'm an introvert who was able to make many friends, which goes on to show how great the community truly is.
Posted by a student on 4/15/2021Moving to the area? Check out private schools. Having had several children graduate from century high school, I have met a number of the schools teachers. Why do they have such a high passing rate for the HSA's? That's all they teach. Our children were not prepared for college. We've even had Presidents of colleges say STEM students from Century HS were not well prepared to handle the rigors expected in college. A lot of emphasis is placed on Century being an Academy school. Don't be fooled. Ask Drew Cockley why his best teachers have left. The teachers of tenure are not supportive, like government, they're present for a paycheck.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA parent wrote the school to let them know that their kid's bus was overcrowded and some kids were having trouble finding seats. So the principal got on the bus the next day to yell at the bus riders and threaten the whole bus with lunch detention if anyone was caught standing on the bus. I'm disappointed but not surprised that the situation was handled this way.Parent Review7mo ago - Piney Ridge Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEven with evaluations and doctor recommendations that our child receive and IEP, we had to fight tooth and nail with the current administration to obtain an IEP. Additionally, the school will not enhance her IEP goals to address the full range of her needs. The school refuses to address academic issues of our child by blaming everything on attention, even with reports and IEP recommendations from doctors. The school does a terrible job fostering community and parent engagement and the PTA is overly concerned with fundraising that is out of touch with teacher and school needs.Parent Review8y ago
