Read what parents are saying about St. Timothys SchoolMy daughter graduated from St. Timothy’s and loved every minute of it. The IB program was challenging, and she has learning differences. The school was so supportive to her. The small class sizes, interactive learning environment, and caring teachers helped her thrive. The school has students from all over the globe. They encourage girls to think critically and examine topics from different points of view. The girls ultimately learn a lot about themselves and the world around them. The traditions at the school are at their core, and really bring the girls together as a community. I would encourage anyone considering STT to go and spend time there. It wasn’t just a school, it was an experience.
Posted by a parent on 6/10/2021My daughter is a sensitive young woman, and I was at first concerned about how she would do at a boarding school, away from home. My husband and I could not be more pleased! She grew leaps and bounds in just her first year. Her confidence blossomed, she matured socially and emotionally, she has a newly found sense of independence and purpose, not to mention her drive to question, examine, learn and explore. The few parents and students who have, in recent years, left negative reviews here are absolutely afforded their own opinions; however, my husband and I, our daughter, and her St. Tim's friends have experienced only the best at St. Tim's - something unique and extremely precious at St. Tims. Academics are indeed challenging; however, the Administration and the faculty have been overwhelmingly helpful and supportive! As for the social atmosphere, the students are diverse, friendly and embracing!
Posted by a parent on 7/20/2015As a past St. Timothy's parent I can definitely claim that the school has several drawbacks. Our daughter endured blatant favoritism by teachers and coaches while a student at St. Timothy's. In retrospect, we believe her difficulties in adjusting were exacerbated by her independent spirit. St. Tim's claims to support independent, free thinking young women. However, in reality, the school fosters and encourages ideological conformity. The Brownie-Spider tradition is a cornerstone of St. Tim's culture. When blind adherence to tradition is taken too far negative consequences may result. During her freshman year our daughter was subjected to what might be best described as hazing. The hazing was associated with the Brownie-Spider tradition, and was essentially condoned by the school. Academically, if your daughter has difficulty acclimating to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, she may feel lost, or overwhelmed. The IB Program is aggressively promoted by the school administration, and deviations within its academic structure are highly discouraged. Be careful when assessing whether this school may be the right learning environment for your daughter. Everything at St. Tim's may not be as copasetic as it seems.
Posted by a parent on 7/3/2015As a student, I love St. Tim's! We have challenging classes, but we have a lot of fun things here too. Over Winterim, we went to New York. We saw "Matilda" the musical and "The Audience" with Helen Mirren on Broadway, heard the renowned jazz musician, Wynton Marsalis perform at Lincoln Center, viewed the Orchid Show, and saw "Don Giovanni", my first opera. We also had an amazing time breaking into song at Hard Rock Cafe when Uptown Funk played and now it's our class song. Besides the amazing performances, we heard Martin Indyk at Brookings Institute, a think tank. I hope you'll consider St. Tim's and come join the fun!
Posted by a community member on 6/8/2015I love St. Tim's because of our diverse community. It's great to meet people from all over the world at one place. There are nice students and faculty members; I always have someone to talk to! I love our beautiful campus with unique buildings, pretty flowers and lovely swans. I also love the new experiences I have had here, such as riding and performing a dance. There are so many wonderful things that I love at St. Tim's, and I am very proud of being a member of this community.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a phenomenal local school and an absolute gem in Baltimore county public schools. Our child could have gone to many places but we chose Fort Garrison because not one parent we spoke to who had kids at the school was unhappy. We were sad to have to move away at the end of the year partly because we hated to take our child away from such a wonderful environment. Our child's teacher was the absolute best and really committed to each child's learning needs. Weekly communication ensured we were kept in the loop and the class size was smaller than at many desirable private schools, which begs the question of why anyone would choose to pay so much instead of supporting this brilliant local school. The administrators and support staff were also so friendly and it really felt like everyone knew your kid. Parental involvement at the school is very strong and the PTA organizes so many fun events that are well attended. Buses ran on time in our experience and we felt that our child was safe throughout. The playground is awesome, shaded for the most part and huge, with a trail behind it that classes visit. All in all, a fantastic place to send your child and feel good about doing so. This is a well loved school and community and it's easy to feel part of it very quickly.Parent Review1y ago - St Pauls School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur daughter’s currently attend SPSG’s Upper School and have been enrolled since the 5th and 6th grade. From the first days when they made the choice to attend SPSG, they both been drawn to the warmth that exist between students and faculty and the sisterhood between the girls. We’ve marveled at the progression they’ve made as students and as people. They are secure in who they are, they laugh and enjoy their classmates and the relationships that have been developed with faculty are enviable. They truly trust the adults in that building - confiding in them through sobs when they didn’t make a sports team, and advocating for change when there’s an “injustice” like too many tests in one week. While the academics are rigorous, and they absolutely are, our girls seem to tackle each challenge with confidence. If I had it to do all over again, I’d easily choose SPSG. It’s a top choice for so many families and we’ve found such great family friendships in the St Paul’s community that we’re positive will extend beyond our girls' time at SPSG. We also love the shared spaces between the schools and the opportunities to interact with the boys at the boys school and with the youngest kids on campus (at the pre and lower school). It's truly and unique and special place.Parent Review1y ago - Bais Yaakov School For Girls

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy friend was suspended from the high school because one of the administration's "spies" in the community saw her at Tov Pizza with her brother (who happens to not look like her because he's adopted) and thought she was hanging out with boys. They didn't even ask her about it. She was notified by phone call over the weekend. Needless to say, she dropped out.Other Review11y ago - Garrison Forest School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter called just to inquire and based on her voice they assumed she needed financial assistance. She spoke to one person who hung up on her, she then called back thinking maybe the called dropped . At this point someome else answered, my daughter inquired about their 6th grade program she was told the deadline expired and they were not offering financial aid at this time. I decided to read some of the reviews we dodged a bullet ...Parent Review2mo ago - The Montessori Schools
