Posted by a parent on 9/3/2018Our son attended LSCA for four years and was able to graduate early after receiving all the individual help he needed that he was not able to get in a public school. The Christian education and influence has helped him to continually grow in his faith even after his high school years. My daughter has just started attending LSCA for high school and we are all very excited to know that she will receive the same great Christian education and support that her brother did. Tuition is reasonable, teachers are very qualified and the learning environment is a positive one.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen moving from California to Maryland I did a full review of all the schools and decided Lake Shore Elementary would be our preferred school of choice. We bought our home just so our daughter could go to this school. We have not been disappointed at all. This school and all it's staff are amazing. The principal is wonderful and communicates well with the parents. I can't say enough about the caring teachers at this school. The classrooms are around 14 to 15 students so they get a lot more one on one instruction. You can't go wrong with this school. I'm so happy we decided to settle in Lake Shore! This is the best community with caring and outgoing parents. We have lived all over the country and this by far is the best I've ever seen. They way they teach is like no other. The way they care about the students is above and beyond. N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had three kids at SJE and each had good years and bad years. The quality of the teachers is extremely inconsistent. One year, it feels like your kid’s teacher is the best and then the next year, it’s poor instruction, poor classroom management and disorganization. There’s no social emotional curriculum and it’s sorely needed. There’s kids having all sorts of problems that go unaddressed - learning difficulties, bullying, - and it just gets ignored for years. The middle school has overcrowded classrooms (there are no lockers and full backpacks on the floor) and no electives to offer. The discipline policy is inconsistent and negative. We didn’t really connect with other families and the kids don’t have good opportunities to bond.
