West Nottingham Academy

My son started West Nottingham this year after he was struggling in the public school system in the major metropolital area in which we live. WNA enabled him to slow down and begin t enjoy learning. He boards so the cost is higher for us, but well worth it to see hm doing so well. Go WNA!

This is school is great and growing! My son has seen it grow in just the three years he has been going there! They have reestablished programs and have incorporated a curriculum where the student can choose from a number of offerings to individualize their learning. Class sizes are smaller, and the staff and student body are just like family. The learning environment is very warm and inviting. There's always a number of activities going on and my son, who is a day student, is always doing something different. He has even enjoyed team sports and learning from his professors. WNA is a great environment and has a beautiful campus. Students are friendly and focused, and the staff are supportive. Many alumni come back for visits and share what they are doing after school. The school even offers a post graduate program and very diverse. All students matter here, and it shows. We really love this school and all it has to offer!

Small classes, excellent faculty, required service learning and great enviroment make this a great college preparatory school!

West Nottingham Academy provides both the enjoyable school experience our son wants, and the ongoing support for learning and personal growth that we, as parents, want him to have. As a boarding student, our son benefits from the full immersive experience that makes West Nottingham such a life-enriching school. Small, college-style classes assure that he is actively involved in daily learning and does not get lost in the crowd. What's more, he has assumed exciting leadership roles working both with students and the administration, engages in service learning and cultural events, has played in new sports and continued to progress in longtime favorites, and has made strong new friendships. Having supportive faculty and staff living right on campus is wonderful! Perhaps most important to us as parents, our son benefits from a culture of genuine academic inspiration, which includes daily structure, consistent study times and the student community's positive attitude toward learning. As a result, our son is growing academically and intellectually. West Nottingham Academy is preparing him for college with regular college counseling, test support and college visits. (All WNA students, historically, attend college after graduation.) Thanks to West Nottingham Academy, our son is a very happy and engaged student with a bright future.

My time at West Nottingham Academy really changed who I am as a person. There are few schools where your teachers are so eager to get to know you on a personal level and are so fully committed to helping you grow as a person. I was encouraged to pursue my interests while also expand outside of my comfort-zone. It isn't perfect--I sometimes wonder exactly what type of student the school wants to teach--but my experience at West Nottingham definitely prepared me for college. I know how to write an essay, how to ask for help when I need it, and what it's like to be surrounded by people who come from different backgrounds than I do. I am so happy to be a Ram!
