I feel the school was left open for a lot a changes. I fought hard for school uniforms but was told it was impossible (it's now a standard in the Springfield Schools, yay!). I brought a lot of ideas to the table as a student and was told they simply weren't possible. I know this school can do more for it's students. When I went to the school there were seven classes EVERY day which left no time to learn anything in class and no time for seven classes worth of home work EVERY night. It was highly stressful and eventually lead to me shutting down. I did graduate and went on to university and I'll soon be working on my Master's of Education. I want to help other students excel and with my experience I know I can help guide the youth towards successful futures. A successful future DOESN'T mean you have to go to university! Know what you like, do what you love, and be true to yourself!Posted by a community member on 9/28/2015

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are not overly happy with school. Starting day 1, we were held by crossing guard till 8:15 and were not allowed to enter school gate. Some crossing guards are really mean and disrespectful. They will yell at the parents in front of their own kids. And Mary is one of them. Teacher helpers - scream at kids during the lineup - as parent you would never scream like that on your own child. You will see that loss of control every morning in the school back yard. Specially where 2-3 grade lines up. But have to admit - Kindergarten is the best and very professionally handled. Teachers - depends from personality of course. There is always a hope that next year you will get a better one. Management (principal, vice principal etc - I bet in support what is happening there - because you will not see any behavior like that from employees if it would not be supported by school upper management. New thing - breakfast in classrom. Starts at 8:30 - done by 9. It translates that from your kid education time every week is stolen 2.5 hours. And that time suppose to be allocated for education, not for eating. What is wrong with having breakfast early and start learning process 8:38 as before? as you see there are a lot of areas to imporveParent Review3y ago

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSome of the teachers are nice, and the office staff are too. But I don’t appreciate the wide open third floor windows without screens and the kids hanging out of them every afternoon. Not cool. Also, horrible parking and accessibility. Picking up is the worst.Parent Review3y ago

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI recomend this school to everyone. My son graduated from this school 5 years ago and my daughter too and there are teachers asking how they are doing. They know their students and they care about them. Great teachers, excellent staff, they try anything in their hands to have the parents to get involved in the school and in the community activities. I don't have any complaints, but we as parents need to get more involved in our children education.Parent Review10y ago
