Read what parents are saying about William H LincolnThis school is great and some teachers are nicer then others. They are extremely friendly towards my child and I would recommend this school to anyone in the brookline area.
Posted by a parent on 9/26/2013I have two children in Lincoln and am not impressed. At first glance, the school is a charm. However, when dealing with teachers, I have found them to be extremely ineffective in solving problems. I am met with huge smiles and huge promises but the bottom line is, they don't follow through. My children have learned from a very early age that adults are not people they can trust to handle bullying. They have learned that school is something to tolerate and that learning happens on their own terms at home. It is very sad to me to watch this happen in the early school years. The administration of Brookline schools follows a similar tactic. They "listen" and "promise" but in the end, throw the problems back onto the children. There are serious issues with bullying at Lincoln and as I see it, the anti-bullying policy is little more than a poster on the wall. As a parent, it is very frustrating to be promised change, then to watch teachers and administrators not follow through. It has happened so many times that it is hard to believe that this is merely an unintentional oversight. The effect on my children is that they have lost faith in adults and in the school.
Posted by a parent on 5/28/2013We have been at Lincoln for almost two years (5th grade boy, 3rd grade girl) after coming from another highly rated suburban Boston school district. The leadership at Lincoln is remarkable, as are most of the faculty and students. It has been a wonderful experience.
Posted by a parent on 4/14/2013we move around. a lot. like, once a year. we always stay in brookine, but i feel guily for always making the kids start a new school. but i just cant help my self. i always find a better house for a better deal. plus, the kids dont really get too atached to certain schools/ places. so my kids have gone to every school in the town. when we first started lincoln, i didn't think it was anything special. jit was just really modern, more modern than most of the other schools. i didn't really hear about any special friends they made there, or anything like that. so i couldnt help but spot another house, this time farther away. but when i told the kids we were moving, they began crying and begging me to let them stay! i asked why, and all of the sudden they were confessing how much they hated the other schools. My eighth grader said kids were always mean at the other schools. My sixth grader said the teachers were unfair at the other schools. My fourth grader said all the other schools "plain sucked". so i do not under stand how lincoln does not have 5 stars right now.
Posted by a parent on 1/5/2013We moved to Brookline for the "excellent schools" but have been very disappointed with the performance and steady decline of Lincoln school. The lack of leadership (4 principals in 6 years) is prevalent in the academic scoring of this school. We moved to this area specifically for this school but are the latest in a long line of parents to pull our child out at middle school level. Some of the teachers are fantastic, alas they are in the minority.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDate: July 2023. We absolutely love Baldwin! My 4 year old reads, and it began with Phonics at school at age 3. They use fun activities like preparing a huge birthday card to encourage writing, reading and drawing. Social emotional development, learning through play, varied fun crafts and activities, fun and informational themes for each week and so many fun events throughout the year to involve families. The principal and staff really care about the students. Safe drop off and safe pick up. My kid loves school and looks forward to it. Teachers also recognize different paces or stages of development and learning and pace the teaching as per the child's stage. Scribbling or pretend writing is also encouraged as a step towards writing. Communication with teachers is easy and transparent. Date: July 2023Parent Review8mo ago - Elc - West Zone

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThrough our family’s journey at Heath, I was astonished about how much our children have grown. During Covid, the teacher engagement and overall quality wasn't as high as during in-person learning, but besides that Heath school has been an amazing opportunity for my children. We also had a teacher that missed most of the year, but the administration handled it wellParent Review10mo ago - John D Runkle
