Posted by a parent on 9/14/2022This school is terrible. It’s sad because there are many great teachers at this school. The principal is a waste of space and just tells you what you want to hear instead of showing action. She is driving away all the good teachers we have and the few good ones we have left are getting close to retirement age. If your child is excelling in a subject this school does not do its best to accommodate that. I had to fight to get my child in Math honors classes despite her making all A’s and Mastery on LEAP testing as well as having the teachers sign a permission slip the year prior. When people ask me about this school I describe it as BEIGE. Beige walls, beige personality, beige administration. It’s like going to school at a prison. The atmosphere is drab and boring down to personality and the physical building itself. The kids do nothing fun like field trips or classes outside. This school does not make it a priority to get these kids to connect to each other. However, my two kids have lucked up and gotten some amazing teachers at this school (we’ve also had bad but either switched classes or dealt with it in the less important classes). Last year the principal decided that morning it was a good idea to gather all the kids in the gym so the teachers could eat lunch together for Teacher Appreciation Day. There were 3 teachers watching them. She called the cops that morning to have them watch the students. During this “event” a riot broke out where students began throwing paper, water bottles, backpacks, etc all while on the bleachers. The teachers were laughing about it. The Chief described it personally to me as “utter chaos”. The principal did not see the overall problems and risks that could’ve occurred with this issue. Anyone could’ve been dangerously hurt but she states the kids were safe. If I knew then what I know now I would’ve sent my kids to another school. I don’t see how Nunez still has a job.
Posted by a parent on 9/3/2019I was a student at this school last year, and I miss it with all of my heart. The teachers connected and interacted with students in ways that make them want to learn. My favorite faculty members were the librarians!:)

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids started during COVID and they did a great job overall even with all the restrictions. We are now entering year 4 with the GTL family and I would not want them to be anywhere else. The administration and staff are wonderful. Bonus is the wonder crossing guard .Parent Review8mo ago - Ernest Gallet Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is the best elementary school in Lafayette Parish. The administration and teachers set the pace for the students. They engage with the students and care deeply about the kids. The academics are excellent, as reflected in the test scores and AR reading program (which is first rate, by the way). Nevertheless, the faculty assigns a manageable amount of homework...much appreciated by the parents. The school also offers kids many extra-curricular activities to help round out their experience. In all, EG is a first rate school that is a the very top of Lafayette Parish. I am thankful that my children were able to attend.Parent Review1y ago - Youngsville Christian School
