Read what parents are saying about Tindley Renaissance AcademyI would not recommend sending your child to this school. It is ran by morons that dont stick by the tindley CODE OF CONDUCT that they preach about . I also have a child at Tindley Collegiate and we love it !!! My child will not be back at renaissance next year.
Posted by a parent on 2/8/2018We are new to this state from NJ and this school was our only last minute options compared to others school I seen. We ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS school with a passion. They focus on the wrong thing instead of academics. What school doesn't have a library ? I can not wait to get my daughter out of this school, they really should be shut down. Luckily my daughter received great education in NJ. Those kids are doomed!! It's really preparing them for prison not college. My blood is boiling just from writing this. Save your child DO NOT WALK IN THE BUILDING
Posted by a parent on 1/24/2018I worked for this company for about 3 months, and it was the most god-awful job I've ever experienced. Out of the many reasons why the most intolerable reason was the working environment. Not only did I have to put in more than 50 hours a week for less pay than an average teacher ( compared to an average IPS or a licensed teacher) I was scrutinized, and put on trial weekly. I was ganged-up on by the staff working there, yelled at and disrespected almost on a daily basis by parents and staff. You are made to work after hours by grading a slue of worksheets that you are made to hand out every hour on the hour. There was no breaks, and you do have to stand constantly. I was put down, ridiculed, and harassed even by a staff member because of my SKIN TONE. Yes, I experienced first hand, reverse racism, and would recommend anyone even considering this job to run away as fast as you can and do not look back! The administration is intolerable, rude, and will not support you or have your back. In fact, they will just watch you from their desks because you are being recorded 24/7! They will watch you being yelled out by disrespectful parents and do absolutely nothing about it! This work place was so intolerable I left the first opportunity I could. Because they accept teachers who are not licensed the standard was lower working here, and the administration thinks they can do whatever they want with no repercussions. This is just scratching the surface of the horrendous and daunting routines and procedures they put in place for the overworked, or should I say, overlooked students. They are given worksheet after worksheet daily, and then made to walk at recess with their hands behind their back. These poor kids were abused the moment their parents enrolled them. I would compare this place to a cold, sweatshop-like atmosphere with a never ending factory of worksheets that I was forced to give them daily. It was the worst work experience in my entire life, and I have worked from anything to a fast food worker to a waitress, to a calling center. Please do not consider this job even an option, and in my opinion they need to be shut down for their lack of caring, lack of empathy, racism in the workplace, long work hours, and most importantly implementing developmentally inappropriate behaviors and systems on the kids who enroll there.
Posted by a teacher on 12/11/2017All terrible. 7 terrible is not enough. No routine progress reports sent home. No way for parents to find out what is offered daily for lunch or breakfast. 4th and 5th grade don't eat until 1pm. Ineffective communicstion with padents re:answers to parent wuestions/school inquiries
Posted by a parent on 12/4/2017Initially I was satisfied compared to the IPS school corporation however in regards to other charter schools very disappointing. School focuses more on rules and structure -- should focus more on education and hiring quality staff -- my child will be withdrawn at end of semester

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere are not enough words to describe how bad this school is! My experience there was horrifying, I couldn't believe everyday I was there children as young as kindergarten age were flipping out in the hallways. Screaming and yelling, cursing at teachers. And the teachers had no type of control! I had a first grade class and when I tell you it was like nothing I've ever seen. The majority of the kids were not even up to first grade level in reading or math. There was no help for Spanish speaking students, except being taken out of class for about 20 minutes to go work with a speech person. But they needed someone in class with them or at least someone who comes and help them with their classwork. Let's start with the older secretary who works the front desk, she is a piece of work. She told me to put ones down the attendance list even if the student wasn't present. The principal was coming in one day I was coming down the hallway with my class and one of the students let out the line, I stopped the principal to tell her one of my students isn't with the group and she told me she just walked in and can she at least take her coat off! She never found out what I wanted, she just didn't care. They have this room you are suppose to send kids that are misbehaving it's called BAC that's a complete joke. They make you fill out a sheet to send up with the child. It has all these different reasons why the child is being sent there. And then you have to write an extra explanation about what happened. But it's a waste of time because they will find any reason to send the kids back. They don't even want to deal with them. Unbelievable! I saw a young boy roaming the hallway all day once. I couldn't believe it. They run out of printing paper constantly in every printer and don't have on hand for you to reload the machines, except in the office where the secretary guards the printer like a hawk. There are a few good teachers there that I had the pleasure of meeting and working with. They helped me a great deal and it is the grace of God they are there. But their joy is being sucked out of them I'm sure. The time I worked there I would go home mentally and physically tired. The environment is so draining and unpleasant, so how can students really get a quality education when their class is being disrupted constantly. I will not ever work here againOther Review7y ago - Rousseau McClellan School 91

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll three of our children have attended St. Matthew and I love my family being a part of this school. It is incredibly community-oriented and the administration is especially accessible and makes a point to learn everyone's name- students and parents. They make physical education a priority and have many CYO sports teams too. They also have an excellent middle school math program. I also think that their student body is more diverse than neighboring catholic schools which is more representative of our Hoosier community and allows students to become familiar with other cultures and ideas. The only area that I think they could improve upon is to offer a more intensive foreign language, especially in the lower grades.Other Review7y ago
