Read what parents are saying about Greenwood Middle SchoolThis staff at this school are rude and have not respect to their students or parents. It is almost like the kids are in prison and they are the wardens which is sad because this school is in a good neighborhood. Do not send your child here.
Posted by a parent on 5/2/2023My daughter goes to this school, and as a parent I am very disappointed to be typing this review. To anyone looking to enroll your child into this school, please do not for the sake of your child(s) mental health, and well being. The staff some of them who work in the office are so ignorant, and rude, it's unbelievable. I am shocked they still have their jobs. The staff do not care about bullying, and pick on students often. And for the special ed students, they do not get treated well, most of them are usually left on their own struggling. The PE teachers are also very much unbelievably rude as well, I am shocked. One of the higher up staffs, have insulted my daughter, and she came home crying because of her. I am very disappointed in this school, and the staff. My child had suffered from many mental health issues because of this school, because the staff are careless of their students, and unbelievably rude to them. The staff would yell at students non-stop, causing much frustration to many of them. The staff mostly the higher ups, would also shut students up whenever that have done something "wrong", so they are unable to explain anything. I am shocked to find all of these things out, and I am disappointed to find out that many other students have suffered like my daughter.
Posted by a parent on 1/19/2023The teachers are annoying especially the staff. The teachers don't even care about the students or their job.
Posted by a community member on 9/16/2022My daughter has extreme anxiety and does not always calm down quickly when having a panic attack. There have been MULTIPLE cases where she has gone to the office or gone to a teacher to ask if she could go somewhere to calm down and if they don't say no they ask her if she can hurry it up. Not to mention how disrespectful the teachers are. My daughter is also on a certain type of medicine that causes her to be quite drowsy and she has been aggressively shaken and yelled at by teachers for slightly nodding off. I can't wait to move my daughter out of this school and i really hope they do learn how to be better role models.
Posted by a parent on 3/6/2022Greenwood Middle School is the WORST school ever! I have gotten bullied here many times, and I've reported this to the front office as well. They have done absolutely nothing about it. The students here are really cruel and most of the teachers are no different. One of the gym teachers has been very rude to me and other students. This doesn't go for every teacher, though. There are a few who are decent. There are a handful of kids here that are extremely disrespectful and obnoxious to everyone around them. Most of the time they're also the ones who seek pleasure in picking on others and putting them down. Although they get reported many times by several students, they still manage to get away with their actions because the office just doesn't seem to care. (Heads up, the office has favorites).I'd rather go to any other school if it meant getting out of this one.Honestly, I do not recommend this school.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have attended here for several years because our child doesn't want to leave friends, but I suggest you stay far, far away. The school is housed inside a former athletic facility and that's a big problem. Sports are more important than education. The dean threatened to re-schedule graduation because it conflicted with a baseball game! The last "chapel" of the year started with a sports video. Athletes are favored and given special privileges such as not having to wear masks during Covid and being allowed to listen to explicit music during practice. The school has been caught violating IHSAA sports recruiting rules. The last athletic director was recently arrested for stealing thousands of dollars from the school. The school does not regularly enforce its supposed dress code. Girls are allowed to wear anything they want to dances except for a dress that shows "extreme cleavage," which is up to the principal to decide. The boys mostly look sloppy and the girls look immodest. The school's administration is very top-heavy and frequently turns over. Tuition goes up every year but you are never told what added benefits you are receiving. They charge equally to other schools in the area that rank much higher in quality. The administrators do not listen to parents and sometimes do not even return emails. Other times, they try to end your conversation before it is done, just because they don't like what you are saying. It is abominable how they treat concerned parents. The most recent superintendent did not have his contract renewed and no explanation was given. Some years it seems there is a mass exodus of teachers during the summer and parents are never informed. When the school gives out surveys, they don't report answers to the "hard" questions. It really makes you wonder what they are hiding. This school was very militant about wearing masks during Covid, so beware of going here if mask mandates start up again. Your child may be given a detention for not wearing a mask in the cafeteria during lunch. This school will follow any directive of the government, no matter how useless and unscientific it is. And teachers will be very vindictive about anyone who dares question them.Parent Review7mo ago - Our Lady Of Greenwood School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent of a former student, I loved how invested all the teachers and admin was at OLG. Everyone was very easy to contact; as well as, willing to go above and beyond to ensure the success of my child. The small class size really helped my child recieve as much meaningful instruction and make connection with each teacher. The community faith based approach the school provides is equally as impreesive. My child was taught to include all other students; regardless of age, grade, or academic level, to ensure everyone around her was successful.Parent Review1y ago - Center Grove Montessori
