Urban Prep Chtr Englewood High School

Poor.. incompetent leadership, throwing around of unearned power. They remind me of Chicago cops who know there’s a fellow officer out of line but will not speak up.

This 1 star rating is for the Bronzeville campus. After only one semester, I am desperately trying to transfer my son out of this school. To refer to it as a school, or Academy for that matter is a huge over statement. It's more like a Juvenile detention center. There are fights everyday, there is more gang activity that I've been exposed to. Dean Tony Stone threatened my son and bullied him and this was allowed by both the Assistant Principal and Principal. The teachers are not qualified. The curriculum is awful. There are very few extra curricular activities. They have no books. Do not believe the hype. The "100%" that they boast on is just acceptance rate most of which are to very small colleges in places no one want to live for 4 years. Most students that graduate from Urban Prep are gravely under prepared for college and because there aren't very many extra curricular activities they aren't afforded many scholarship opportunities either. Do not send your son here.

I love urban prep my son is going into his sophomore year and I must say they are doing an awesome job keeping him focused and on point I change any thing about this school . also I love the creed they have to say after event , just awsome

This school is more than a number. You have to experience it to know what great teachers and opportunities this school will provide your son.

Urban Prep Englewood campus is all the persona. The school focuses too much on making sure they look good and their rules than the actual academics of the students. Hoping in the future the school will start to focus more on academic as well as maintaining structure within the school.
