Read what parents are saying about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy of Social JusticeIt has been a very positive experience.
Posted by a community member on 10/9/2019I feel like there is very poor communication between teachers and parents. Events in school aren't planned properly and they get annouced to us parents very last minute (the day before) . Thus makes it hard for us parents to get involved. I was given a note from school about an award assembly where parents were welcomed. Had they sent it at least 3-4 days in advance. They sent it the night before. I wanted to go, but couldn't cause of the last minute notice. Same thing with parent teacher conference, and all meetings. I hate not being able to be part of the school activities and know where my children are at whrn it comes to their education.
Posted by a parent on 2/24/2015Effective July 1 Hinton will be called Dr. Martin Luther King Jr . Academy of Social Justice . We are so excited . We will have new curriculum including gifted . Enrollment is open
Posted by a parent on 6/23/2014School recently held meetings to discuss changing the curriculum focus of the school. Students are set to make great improvments this school year. The yhave come a long way under the current administration, cleaner building, more new books, student incentives, parental involvement opportunities. GO HINTON
Posted by a parent on 11/27/2011I have been happy here at Hinton. The building is under control, students are disciplined fairly and close parent contact is maintained. Staff is treated fairly. Students were supplied with new text books, and several new after school programs were implementated. I like this school. I would recommend this school to all communities.

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school Bond Elementary in Inglewood Chicago 71st and Racine is a complete disaster, Lean On Me movie before mr. Clark was child play compared to this school, the administrators are utterly incompetent and the student completely lawless even at an elementary stage. No disciplinary structure whatsoever even if a student hit a teacher the student cannot be removed from class. The school is so bad that no new teacher stays longer than two months before quitting and no substitute teacher comes back to the school after the first postings, no discipline structure what so ever and the principal calls teacher out of class to her office during instructional time. In January 2015 four people were stabbed in this school including a teacher, a security , dean of student and another student. Students are always fighting bullying and choking each other without any consequences for their action. You can feel the toxic nature of the school as soon as you walk in. THIS SCHOOL NEEDS TO BE CLOSED DOWN AND THE PRINCIPAL FIRED. its one of the worst schools i have ever seen. The principal is always making hypocritical attempt to cover up the true and disgraceful nature of the school so people don't know the facts. its a crime to send children to such a school. This is my observation when I was posted to the school to be a substitute teacherTeacher Review8y ago - Mays Elementary Academy

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStagg is horrible! The scores have dropped consistently for over the past year. Once AUSL took over it has been a huge mess. If you have a choice DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL! Research the test scores for yourself! This school is the pits. Whoever wrote the positive reviews MUST work at the school or be related to someone who does!Parent Review10y ago - Building Blocks Learning Academy
