Read what parents are saying about De La Salle InstituteMy son went here for high school and was in the honors program. I felt they helped teach him what it means to be an honorable man in addition to what he needed for college. It is not a perfect school - in fact, I think he could have been challenged more academically. But, the life lessons were equally important for him. I highly recommend D!
Posted by a parent on 9/28/2015We have had 2 daughters graduate from De La Salle Institute Lourdes Hall Campus and our third daughter is a senior now. This is an exceptional school and we felt that they thoroughly prepared our daughters for college. The classes are small and challenging. The environment is friendly, everyone knows everyone and the Principal has a constant presence and really gets to know the girls . They offer several extra curriculars besides sports. Although our daughters all played soccer, and our third plays soccer and runs cross country, they were also involved in National Honor Society, Peer Ministry, French and Spanish Clubs and Plays. Both of our daughters walked into college with 12 credit hours worth of college credits due to their AP classes that are affiliated with St. Mary's of Winona, MN. Both were also able to begin their college careers in sophomore level science and math classes due to their College Freshman testing scores. This is a testament to the curriculum that De La Salle offers in both science and math. This school offers so many opportunities.
Posted by a parent on 3/16/2015This school has an mission statement from the 50's. Focus on Sports, Focus on kids from Bridgeport and who their fathers are. It is the old boys club. If your child has any brains they should not attend this institution. Their main focus is their sports program and shall I say that sucks too because they ONLY pick kids that are from a specific neighborhood regardless of their athletic ability. Their learning programs are not up to par compared to the other Catholic schools in the Chicago-land area. I don't mean to be crude but I just want to be honest because of the cost. I feel that is the reason for their extremely low enrollment in the boys campus. Please think twice about sending your son here. As I said before education is not their focus. I don't even think they have an actual science lab. Your child will be treated as an out cast if you do not live in Bridgeport. Not a good environment for a young man. Thank you
Posted by a parent on 3/13/2015I graduated from Daystar Christian School in the South Loop and my parents chose this school for my high school years. I am a freshmen currently, and so far so good. The girls campus is small and the classes are challenging. I am on the track team and in the Spanish club. I plan on working hard at this school and doing my best so that I can get into a good college. The school is close to my house so its pretty much perfect. The teachers are easy to talk to and I have met a few new friends. So if you are thinking about the Lourdes campus and want a small school environment, please come check us out!
Posted by a community member on 3/20/2014My son attended De La Salle Institute, and it was the best decision we could have made for him to prepare him for college and life thereafter. The curriculum is challenging. The teachers are caring, respectful, and involved. The administration is personable and highly qualified. The extra-curricular and athletic programs serve the individual interests of all students. The environment is safe, diverse, and centered on Christian values. Although my husband and I sacrificed to afford the tuition, it was worth every penny. After all, you only get what you pay for, and, as parents, we wanted the best for our son. We made the right choice! Today, our son has a successful career, is a responsible citizen, and is a loving husband and father. We attribute all that he has become to the foundation he received at De La Salle. If you are looking for a high school experience that is second to none, choose De La Salle Institute. You will not be sorry!!

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two boys at St. Jerome, going into 5th and 2nd. This is our second year and I am VERY happy with the school. Academically, I feel they are really being challenged. I am a big fan of the curriculum-they teach the common sense, fundamentals that kids need without all the nonsense public schools are teaching these days. There is very strong parental involvement and tons of activities that the kids get involved with generous jeans to support causes, many field trips, mother-son mayhem, father-daughter dance, all-school picnic and many other unique activities that I haven't seen at other schools.Parent Review9mo ago - St Elizabeth

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe absolutely LOVE attending Donoghue and are beyond excited to be back! This is our 2nd year (1st Grade). Compared to our prior experience at another CPS for Pre-K3 and PreK4 this is hands down our best experience. The School has Security Staff onsite the entire day. The Charter Elementary campuses are also regularly patrolled by the University of Chicago Police. I absolutely feel safe every morning when I drop my child off.The # of children in my daughter's class that made honor roll was very impressive and their confidence during their Graduation performance spoke volumes for the wonderful staff and time put in.In my opinion, Donoghue overall from the Administration to Teaching staff is run by well educated Professionals that are caring, motivated, and compassionate about the needs and success of all of their students. Yes, I absolutely would recommend University of Chicago- Donoghue Campus to other parents!Let's Goo Bulldogs!!Parent Review7mo ago
