Read what parents are saying about St Francis Day SchoolSt. Francis has been amazing for both our daughters that have opposite learning needs. We attended the school for kindergarten in 2020, and instruction didn't stop during COVID. The teacher actually mailed and dropped off manipulatives and kept on teaching. My daughter that has several learning differences, and ADHD continued to learn and engage in school. That experience, along with COVID concerns, prompted me to move her sister, who is higher performing, but lacks motivation. She thrived in the smaller class where she got to know the teachers, and they could challenge her. I have on multiple occasions been able to speak with leadership, and the principal has always been able to listen and address any concern. While I know St. Francis isn't the newest school, it focuses on the strength of the foundation, and the executive function skills so are so important for success later in life.
Posted by a parent on 5/16/2022Saint Francis is an amazing school! My daughter started new in second grade and they made her feel as if she had been at the school since kindergarten. The weekly academic feedback and daily behavior reports keep you connected with your child’s successes and weaknesses. The teachers and staff are incredible. I honestly can’t say enough good things about Saint Francis.
Posted by a parent on 5/16/2022We were fortunate enough to get accepted into St Francis during covid and it has been an amazing experience. We had planned to go back to public school once everything returned to normal after covid, but our son was thriving in the small class size of 10-12 classmates, and we knew this is where we needed to be. He loved it so much that when sister was school age she was enrolled, as well. The one-on-one attention that our children get is near impossible to find with other schools maxing out at 22-23 students. Highly recommend!
Posted by a parent on 5/16/2022What a wonderful school and learning environment - I can't say enough about the nurturing teachers and administrative staff that make this place so special for both my children. One of my children started at St. Francis in Kindergarten and once I saw the curriculum, student/teacher ratio, and individualized approach to different learning styles I moved my Second grader to the school with no hesitation! It has been a great experience from day one for both my children and I feel lucky to have found this school among the many great options in the Atlanta-area. Highly recommend for any parent looking for a traditional, thoughtful, and accommodating classroom setting.
Posted by a parent on 5/16/2022We joined St Francis after a long very torturous time in Dekalb County Schools. St. Francis has been a GAME CHANGER. Our son now loves school, he loves his teachers, he feels understood and he isn't taught the same way as everyone else "just slower" like they do at DCSS. His confidence is up, his grades are up and as parents we feel like we made an excellent choice for our son and our family. The teachers probably think we are a little over the top bc every time I see them in carpool or send an email I tell them how thankful we are for SF and each of the teachers. Also the teacher's communication is so GOOD and they expect the best of the students and have a great program for teaching and expecting Executive functioning skills. We have even seen these skills trickle over into our home life which has been amazing. I really can't say how much we love St. Francis. If your child is struggling in a public school, get them out of there and find a school that thinks of your child not the "next milestone" test scores.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDon't be fooled by the test scores. We've relocated several times and our children have attended five different elementary schools. After a couple of years at Tritt, we can say Tritt is definitely the bottom of the barrel. The students are great but the school goes out of it's way to fight the parents at every turn. Parents are discouraged from visiting the school and participating in their child's education. The facilities are subpar with half the class rooms are in modular buildings with high humidity. The whole place has a depressing feel. The principal avoids interaction with the parents and the teachers are afraid of the principal -- no leadership whatsoever. Any other school in East Cobb is a better option than Tritt. Also be ready to spend serious money on tutoring your child to fill in gaps not covered at school. A new principal and some major renovations are needed to turn this school around. Everyone is afraid to speak up for fear of hurting their real estate values or that their child will get poor treatment but can't wait to get out of this school one way or another.Parent Review7mo ago - Timber Ridge Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTimber Ridge is an amazing school academically where your kid will learn a lot. The school has a small amount of kids enrolled so it’s very tight knit. The principal seemed to know every student. Now the biggest issue there, which is a huge one if you a a minority, is that the diversity is zero. The parents were very unwelcoming and though I participated a lot at the school and even joined the PTA, I never felt included or accepted. Apparently my daughter felt the same way which is why we were only there for one year. My daughter described being treated differently because she did not know how to use words like prejudice or bias. If you are a minority and looking for a place to thrive this is not it. You will feel shunned by the parents, administration will call you about the smallest things to find a way to label your child, and your child will come home feeling bad and unworthy. Academically my child excelled but it was not worth her diminishing self esteem. They need to do better with inclusivity and making others feel welcomed, because we did not. Her teacher was awesome though.Parent Review8mo ago - Roswell North Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEveryone is very nice, but the principal and teachers disregard parent concerns and suggestions regarding health and safety. They will very politely tell you to go kick rocks even when presented with very simple suggestions backed by years of scholarly research. Teachers are young and inexperienced. We have been with the school 2 years and have watched our child’s interest in learning and grades consistently slide down, despite being a very intelligent and motivated student. Communication about assignments, grades, assessments, health, and the like is non-existent even with active questioning from parents.Other Review3mo ago - Dunwoody Springs Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll three of my children are High Meadows alumni. They were students from preschool to 8th grade. I recently became reengaged with the school for their 50th anniversary and student outcomes are the same now as they were 20 years ago. I have witnessed the love of learning, the self-advocacy, and the ethical leadership carried out in my children’s adult lives. In any given situation, they are seen as leaders, excellent communicators, and advocates for themselves and others. Many thanks to the faculty and staff who act more as guides and evaluators than the traditional sense of teachers talking at the students. Academically, they are prepared for any type of post High Meadows higher learning, traditional public, progressive private, ivy league, etc. Even better is that the students are very adept at choosing higher learning that “fits” them. Additionally, the community is amazing. Communication is welcomed and encouraged by leadership. My children and I have made lifelong friends through High Meadows. I am still friends with many other parents of High Meadows students, even though our lives have taken us in many different directions.Parent Review3w ago - Ison Springs Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am very displeased with Ison Springs. My daughter’s teacher quit abruptly and she’s been without one for three months now. The substitutes chosen are of poor choice! The principal is non existent and there’s no structure! My child learns absolutely nothing while she’s at school! I’ve voiced my concerns directly with the staff and nothing has been resolved! Cannot wait until we move in December!Parent Review2y ago - Ilm Academy
