Posted by a student on 10/11/2020My Son just started at CEC this year 2017-2018 He is a Senior so as of right now things are okay we will see as the year progresses
Posted by a parent on 8/2/2017I love the school, I think they need to work on bullying and behavioral issues that are going on there. It really needs to be more streak on attire and clothes. I love the early college partnership at GSU.
Posted by a parent on 5/20/2017I took my son out of woodward Academy and rolled thought I was rolling the dice sending him to Carver Early College. What I found was a great learning enviornment, caring but not enabling teachers, and a dynamic principal. The GSU partnership is awesome at other schools he'd have to take all AP classes and pass the AP exams to get the same credit that he get for going to GSU. The best part is that they actually go to school on the campus so they are immersed in the true college experience. You will have to be active and make sure that your child is hanging out with the right crowd but hey I had to do that at the private school that I was paying $20,000 to. It truly is the best kept secret in the state and if you have the opportunity to attend I highly recommend it.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is just over half way through his kindergarten year here and it thus far, is proving to be an amazing and engaging environment. They offer various after school programs for enrichment and the staff and teachers have only been wonderful and helpful. My son is performing very well academically. I only have good things to say.Parent Review2y ago - Barack and Michelle Obama Academy

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our 2nd year at BAMO academy and both I and my daughter love this school. The care and attention of all of her teachers thus far, our awesome Principal and administrators and the pursuance of excellence has made me a huge fan of this school. Not to mention the security is what i need to feel more secure in this day and age. Also my 3 year old is super excited to attend and there isn't much I can ask forParent Review7mo ago - Gideons Elementary School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent of two students who went partially last year, all I can say is stay away!!! Don’t get me wrong the fluff and “Genius” this and “Genius”that, massages the ego but beneath the surface there are major problems. The test scores are horrible as you can see. No report cards. “Charter” classes like entrepreneur but majority of the kids can’t even count or add in the 4th and 5th grades. They even used my daughter’s adoption as a way to promote their “new learning” tactics on national tv. My Wife and I immediately regretted doing it to this day. It was so bad I chose to take my daughters out who couldn’t write, read,or do math beyond a 1st grade level just like most of their peers. I quit my job and homeschooled them and we worked harder than we had in our lives. I was able to get my special education 4th grader on 5th grade level and my first grader actually discovered she may be a genius.lol.. They were motivated by the history of Blacks and an obligation to take advantage of the educational system their ancestors fought for. So imagine the defeat they felt when they were told by below average Kindezi Gideon that they would have to repeat the 4th and 1st grades. My daughter cried and told me she just wanted to prove herself. Imagine being a Father who worked her endlessly threw her learning disabilities and overcoming years of feeling inferior to be told by the same institution who praised her on national tv but failing miserably, now saying she would have to repeat a grade simply because she wasn’t homeschooled at an accredited school. The audacity of a school with a 99% rate of under preforming students to actually act like this. As a home owner paying a large part of my $5000 property tax to a institution that is failing our kids makes me sad and uneasy. So I suggest all parents to take your kids and run!! Run to your School Board Meeting,City Counsel Meeting, etc and force these schools to help educate on Black Boys and Girls who barely can read and write. Instead of playing jazz on the first day how about using that money for Saturday family reading and math classes?Parent Review1y ago - Parkside Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience has been very Positive. We have absolutely loved our Elementary School teachers - 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade teachers have been amazing. My child feels safe and cared for. She also has fun and really looks forward to school and learning. The PTA does a great job of including families and Principal Foster, Miss HG and the leadership team do a phenomenal job of running this ship! The teachers and staff are especially supportive of kids that need attention and they have a lot of experience and patience working with kids from various backgrounds and learning levels. It is a very "inclusive" culture.Parent Review6mo ago - Dobbs Elementary School
