This is a wonderful school that has helped many students in our community that struggle with reading. Brookwood is not only doing an amazing job helping a neighbor's child, they are one of only 2 schools in the area that serve high school students with dyslexia. The specialty services they offer and the staff it requires costs money, but they do their best to keep costs at a minimum. In addition to their tuition being considerably lower than other schools that serve students with reading issues, they offer many scholarships and financial aid to those willing to complete the Grant & Aid process in a timely manner. Their generosity is what made attending the school and receiving the help she needs possible for my neighbor's daughter.

We have lived in Acworth for 12 years and have driven by the little red school house in downtown Acworth , hundreds of times. In public school, my son was slipping through the cracks and being passed forward without having acquired actual mastery of the core grade level "requirements" which only served to diminish his confidence and create difficulty in the next grade lessons he was expected to know. Even though he was diagnosed with Autism and had an IEP. Public school did the bare minimum to receive the allotted funds. My husband and I felt like we were fighting a losing battle and failing our son.Out of desperation, we decided private school tuition was well worth our son's education and social growth. We checked into the little red school house, Brookwood Christian Language School . Kim Wigington, the head of the school, patiently listened and addressed all of our concerns. The class sizes average 7 to 1 and the sense of family and personal attention the students and teachers shared was so moving and spoke to what we wanted for our son. He's been a Brookwood Christian Owl for 2 years now and we've been so blessed to witness so much progress.

My experience, especially with head Kim Wigington, has been unprofessional and unsatisfactory. The teachers are amazing but the administrative staff and leaders lack the professionalism to communicate with parents and actually do what is best for the children. It's very disappointing considering they have such an amazing opportunity to be the best of a specialized school but the leaders will cause them to fail.

Brookwood has been nothing short of an absolute blessing for our daughter. Since her first day of shadowing to a year later it’s been remarkable to watch her growth. The confidence she’s gained by finally being on reading level has given us so much hope for her academic future. The staff here does a wonderful job of working with every student to help them gain the skills and confidence to be successful. I honestly can’t say enough how much we love Brookwood!

In every great story, there is a comeback. As a mother of a child with numerous learning differences, I have been searching for the beginning of my child’s comeback story. I tried public school IEPs, homeschool, tutoring and another private school to no avail. When I met Kim, the founder of Brookwood Christian school, she had a quiet confidence about her that I could trust. My daughter has found a loving, safe environment with highly qualified teachers, like Kristen, Nadiya and Julie, who invest in my child on a daily basis. She moved from self-identifying as a non-reader to reading books like The Babysitter’s Club. She still has more work ahead of her, but she is taught the way her brain learns. She moved from being someone who hates math to smiling when she speaks of her success with her latest lesson. I can speak as a parent with full confidence that 1 year ago when my daughter started at Brookwood Christian school, her comeback story began. As a parent who has faced school days with anxiety, I can confidently drop her off knowing she is getting evidence-based interventions with Wilson Reading and FastForward to name just a few, as well as therapeutic art lessons to help her develop her fine motor skills, eye hand coordination and flex her creative muscles. Last years testing confirmed what I already knew, the intervention and environment was working! I would like to encourage parents to help their children to stop struggling and start thriving. Come check out Brookwood Christian School. This school is one of the best decisions I have ever made for my child!
