Read what parents are saying about Alameda International High SchoolI've seen other principals more involved with the students in other schools, if the principal actually makes the students her priority and be really involved then I think she would be able to make the school a great school but I see that she's only there for the paychecks not the students. My students have told me several times that they rarely see her in the hallways and they also think that she can do better. Alameda has so much potential for being a great school but leadership is not there.
Posted by a parent on 10/11/2023My child has been successful academically, loves her homeroom (Advise) teacher and classmates, and has made friends. I have asked her if she’d be interested in moving to one of the larger high schools as she enters 9th grade in order to be on more competitive sports teams, etc, but she absolutely does not want to leave Alameda. So, I’d give our experience here the best rating possible. 10? Gold star?
Posted by a parent on 5/29/2019I love the opportunities that this school presents to students and families. I love the bilingual/dual language classes, and the IB programming 7-12 where students can get college credit. It is a safe, caring learning environment.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy family has been at Patterson for 8 years with two of my children attending from kindergarten all the way through. They both had unique wonderful experiences. The teachers worked to meet my kids where they needed to be met. The art, music, and p.e. teachers all go above and beyond to create such diverse learning experiences. Another bonus was my children got to learn Spanish as part of the curriculum. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePeople are very nice the school but as far as support and accountability extra help is hard to come by as my child was not supported at all and fell behind. And although my child’s teacher agreed immediately to have my child change schools without even letting us know there’s other options when I had asked about her level of reading and understanding in that same school, and we felt there was no effort on their part to help our child. And when it came closer to the end of the school year we were told there was finally some support we felt it there was no real effect as they decided to focus on other things then what was needed. I write this objectively as now my child “started to attend a different school” and within the first month without asking they asked us if they could give our child extra help in the subjects needed to improve upon, which is literally night and day from this school. I know my experience was not the same as other parents at Westgate but I had to get it off my chest as that is how we felt.
