Read what parents are saying about Fountain Valley School Of ColoradoI have really enjoyed being a student at Fountain Valley! The community is super kind and welcoming. Also, there are many unique opportunities like rock climbing, pottery, and video editing. One thing that has stood out to me has been meeting and talking to students from different countries. Overall I would recommend FVS!
Posted by a student on 8/31/2023Fountain Valley School provides my son with a tribe of acceptance, challenging him with growth and leadership opportunities, experiential learning opportunities, exposure to programs that he didn't know he would have an interest in (music, theater, after school programs, etc.). The communication from his advisor, dorm parent, teachers, are always honest, thoughtful, and meaningful. FVS is not for everyone, and that's ok, for the students that this environment works - I am watching them soar and excel - being ready for their next chapters in life. Highly recommend!
Posted by a parent on 8/31/2023The people are very inclusive and always looking for ways to problem solve and offer support. There is plenty of time for one-on-ones with teachers and they focus a lot on individual learning. There are tons of affinity groups and communities that encourage global involvement. The community has found a way to support and honor their students.
Posted by a student on 8/30/2023My daughter attended this school and she felt as though she was stuck in “Groundhog Day” as she described it. Poor academics, poor student behavior, poor teaching with the exception of a few great teachers. She breezed through the entire year with an A+ average and she barely worked at it. My child is smart but for grades like that I would have expected a bit more hard work and struggle. The teachers come and go and the ones they keep do whatever they want without any recourse. At least half of my child’s teachers left this past year. They also hated the school. This is a school that clearly has a population of kids that either A. can’t handle it at a larger school because they have mental/social/behavioral issues, B. the parents believe their child is so above everyone else because all the family knows is the CO schooling system and they believe their child is highly intelligent, and C. last but not least, their kid has behavioral problems and the parents can not tolerate their child so they ship them off to a boarding school. My family has since learned this school is the laughing stock of many of Colorado Springs families etc. We always wondered why we got weird looks when we told people where our child was attending school. School has a bad reputation .Now we know. We paid full tuition for my child to breeze through with A+ as she described an 8th grade education for her freshman year. We are from another part of the country where the public schools and private schools are very high level to say the least. 7th and 8th grade kids being bussed to the public high school to attend AP Calc is the norm. To say this school is a joke is an understatement. Do not waste your money. BELIEVE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! The positive ones are planted by the school.
Posted by a parent on 8/17/2023It's extremely hard to review a boarding school as largely whatever students get out of it is directly related to what they put in. However, this school has a bullying problem (very much a laissez faire view of destruction of student's property and the like) that leads me to recommend anyone considering this for their student to look carefully at what "group" their student is in. Additionally, if this school is recruiting your student for a sport MAKE SURE TO GET A CONTRACT that stipulates X # of years, as they recently got rid of their soccer sports team and decided to drop all recruited students midway through the first semester leaving their parents struggling with the decision what to do with the rest of the student's high school career and if they wanted to keep the student in the school for the rest of the year or not. Great educational chops, but the dean of students and the various house parents aren't remotely as good, and the focus on sports is very much hit and miss.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is the fourth year my children have attended King, starting in fall of 2020. The school has been consistently a positive environment for my kids, and did wonderful work through navigating COVID. They utilize project based learning (PBL) which I feel has helped my kids grow and be more confident in their learning. They have great fundraisers and community events. They have a high percentage of active duty military families, and do great in supporting their special needs. I’m very happy with this school and our experience.Parent Review3mo ago - Pinello Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI've had two children at Venetucci for the last 2.5 years and we will be leaving this school this year, and possibly this district. The number of teachers who have left or quit during the middle of the year is unacceptable. Classrooms are regularly being reassigned and students move as new teachers come and go. There is zero communication or transparency from the administration at this building. If you need to contact anybody in the school or district, locating contact information of any kind is near impossible. If you are able to contact someone, do not hold your breathe for a timely response. There are maybe 3-4 good, solid teachers that actually enjoy their job and care about the students at this school. Everyone else is a new hire who will be gone during or after this school year. Support from staff for your student is only available if you have an IEP or 504 plan. If your child is without those, but still struggling, too bad, so sad for you. This school has dramatically gone downhill in the last 2.5 years that we've attended and I think it is directly related to the poor leadership and administration that has been appointed to this building. Widefield School District 3, do better for your students.Parent Review5mo ago - Webster Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love Webster! My kids had to change schools due to boundary changes, but after one year at the new school, we knew we had to boundary waiver back into Webster. Any small issues we've ever had have been handled quickly and efficiently by the teachers. (We've never had an issue that required admin assistance.) I would highly recommend this school!Parent Review3y ago - Widefield Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter loved her 6 years at WESA. We requested WESA as our school of choice specifically for of the Arts program. WESA is the only Elementary school in D3 that offers 4th and 5th grade band or strings classes, this has enabled her to go into advance orchestra class for Middle school. The staff are caring about the students and went above and beyond my expectations.Parent Review4mo ago - Sunrise Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFrench Elementary has a kind and caring staff. Their top priority is student growth and development. French is a Leader in Me school promoting student and staff leadership now and in the future. Students can be a member of different Leader in Me groups. These groups introduce new students and families to the staff and other students. These students also can be seen helping with new bulletin boards in the hallways. Members of Leader in Me also can be found helping other students with homework in the library. French has a PTO and encourages parents and families to volunteer in the building and classrooms. Families are also invited to attend achievement nights, music programs and awards ceremonies as well as the community parade. French is a part of the community and encourages all families to become involved. French Elementary is a wonderful school, stop in for a visit.Other Review1y ago
