Read what parents are saying about Palmer School For Boys And GirlsTerrific school......passionate teachers with a challenging curriculum.
Posted by a parent on 6/6/2020I would recommend it over the other schools in the area, but it is in no way perfect. It has issues that I truly hope it will become better at dealing with in the future. While going into this school please ensure that you keep up to date with your child because while they might not have a large voice. Change will happen if you call for it.

Posted by a community member on 5/3/2019I personally think this school isn't good . A graduated 8th grader came up to me and said that she hated Palmer and didn't learn anything from it. And I think that too. It feels like a prison, we wear very very strict uniforms and are surrounded in a fence and brick walls. Every time someone asks me what school I go to I always say Palmer and they always ask where it is and have no complete idea about the school. There is also one entrance into the school for all of the students when arriving so when we are trying to get to school in the morning we have to wait in a long line outside on the road in front of the school for about 15 minutes and sometimes even 30. It wastes time and we get to school late and class late. I never know when school starts because the time always ranges, sometimes it starts at 8:20 and other times it starts at 9-9:30. It is because they have parent teacher meetings before school instead of having it on a separet day. It wastes out time trying to learn. The teachers can't even do their jobs correctly. And just so you know its not all teachers but its almost all, there are about 4-5 actual teachers that can do their job correctly. Maybe its just my grade. Last year my teacher had a baby so we had a substitute for the rest of the year and he was horrible. He wouldn't help us with anything and just sat there on his new fancy Apple Ipad and played with it the whole time. He totally favored this 1 new girl only because he thought she was so helpless and couldn't do anything. I went home every night not knowing what to do for hw and was crying at 12am trying to figure out how to do it. That year i stayed up until 1 am every night and that was just the minimum. Once i stayed up till 4am doing projects and hw. I do do a sport but it still dosent mean that I should be staying up this late doing hw. Now everyday in class I try so hard not to cry, because all I can think about are all of he bad times at this school. I have had no good times here and everyday I walk into school remembering all the times I cried in the bathroom because of how my "friends" treated me. I still remember crying in the bathroom because I was tiered of how they were treating me and I wanted to run away from school. Mind you I was in 1st grade. I can keep going on but i've reached the word limit. Just so you know this is my own personal experiences.
Posted by a student on 3/25/2019My child flourishes at Palmer. He looks forward to going to school each morning. His behavior has improved in class, having his teachers support and the encouragement of the other students makes him feel part of a greater community.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI moved my kids here from the nearby Lafayette school district, and this school has exceeded my expectations. Its a smaller school where everybody is very friendly and it feels like a family here. The lunch is so much better than the pathetic food from public school, as kids get to pick and choose from a wide variety of options every week. Multiple field trips and outings every semester for enrichment and the sports programs are well organized so kids with different talents can participate. The academic competitiveness is probably not as intensive as those elite private schools that's costing $50k a year, but its definitely challenging enough to keep my daughter engaged in the classroom, given that her state exam result is a few years above grade level. Most importantly she made friends here who regard learning as a priority. The teachers are very engaging and parents get detailed weekly update on their kids academic progress. If they missed a homework, I am automatically notified on the same day by their system. The school also has a well diversified student population. Kids are very well disciplined here, which is very important for an excellent studying and growing environment. I met many parents who are enthusiastic about devoting and contributing to their kids' education while volunteering in school activities.Overall I recommend this school, especially if you are sick and tired of the California public schools and want your kids to thrive in a safe and friendly environment.Parent Review3mo ago - The Seven Hills School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTepid at best. I wish I could fully endorse this school, but I can not. During shelter in place and distance learning, there was much to be desired. No real information from the school leadership. Today we are one month post the last day of school and still no information on schooling in the fall or the measures that will take place. It's disappointing to have no assurance during this time of uncertainty.Parent Review3y ago
